Perfect size for the sink
We use a lot of fresh produce everyday and didn't want to just throw those wet/moist vegetable peels etc onto the regular trash bin.We bough an Ikea Halbrand but found it too big. The capacity was too much and if you wait for that to fill up, you'd end up with stinky garbage/compost.Buying the bag for it would be wasteful too since you'll only end up using a portion of it and then throwing it after 1.5 days.I went on to Amazon and search for a food compost caddy. It was either this one or the one from Oxo.I chose this one because I was sold on the filter.I wanted the the contents to be able to 'breathe' so they won't end up stinky.

Great product, especially in a warm country where you don’t want to keep a big bin.
Colour, size and functionality exactly what I wanted. Thank you.

Yuk! Messy n Flies
I was really excited to get this product. Good brand name too.Awful - doesn’t seal properly and obviously not good as allows stuff in - ergo many midgey flies when opened. It is odourless with the filter, looks good, nice size but no way can I deal with flies - 😞Now is just used as countertop trash can and emptied n cleaned after every cooking/prep use.Too late to return - but if I had used it in time, I certainly would have returned it.

Modern and chic
Bought this to replace the mulfunction small step bin. Feel relief seeing the little caddy sits neatly on the narrow counter top. It means, no more bending over to discard unwanted produces and vegetables.

Great little bin, perfect for small space, sleek and tidy!
This is a great organics bin, I've had mine for about two months now and not one complaint. It cleans easy, bags are easy to switch out and there's a spot inside the bin where a new bag can be fastened so it stays put and doesn't move around on you. It comes with a small carbon filter which is very good for not letting any odours escape the unit. The lid fits tight and sturdy, the handle tucks away behind the unit and the whole thing looks neat and tidy on the countertop and is the perfect size for several days of food scraps (for two people at least, we cook a lot at home so we do use it constantly throughout the day). The lid stays up and out of the way nicely when you open it to throw the scraps in without closing on you unexpectedly. Mine is the charcoal color and looks great, and the design makes it easy to tuck out of the way and fit against the wall easily. I'm super happy with it overall!

compact, practical, stylish -> could be a perfect solution for you too...
It took me ages to make up my mind about the choice of a little waste container to put on my worktop. This J & J waste container ticked all the boxes for me, except the price box! I finally realized if placed on the right hand side of my sink, not far from my dark grey and stainless steel kettle and toaster by Breville, the dark grey plastic and the stainless steel handle of the J & J compost container would match perfectly. I have to admit this was the last reason that made me go ahead with the order, (though not the main reason!) but I was still thinking the price was a bit high.I must say I am now DELIGHTED with the practical and stylish result on my worktop! Worth every penny of it!Liner bags? Easy to notice the way of fixing the liner bags was very well thought of. Even the bags I had (a bit too big), worked. I will eventually shop around at Amazon to buy the proper size of J & J liners for it.This little compost container corresponds perfectly to my needs. I have already got a dual Brabantia kitchen bin on the kitchen floor. It has 2 sections - one of which is for all our garden compost. We are vegetarian, we always make fresh soup and we eat lots of fruit & veg so, we get lots and lots of peelings going straight into that bin. When full, it's emptied into our large compost bins at the end of the garden.I needed a small size compost container on my worktop (instead of using a salad bowl covered with a large plate!!!) to fill up with items connected with food I do NOT put in my garden compost (bits of cooked food, cheese rinds, daily peelings of citrus fruit, large stones from avocados (take years to decompose!) & stones from peaches and apricots, plus coffee filters & tea bags). The Council give us a sort of good size brown bucket to fill up with stuff for garden compost + bits of cooked foods and whatever you don't want to dump into your own garden compost -- but all must be put in biodegradable bags.No place on my kitchen floor for this brown squarish bucket, and it is much too big (and ugly) to put on my worktop! I keep it in the garage. The "bucket" in question gets emptied once a week at the same time as our general rubblish bins. Every 5 or 6 days, I empty the contents of my little J&J container into that brown bucket. Perfect solution for me.I now could not do without my J&J compact waste container, sitting nicely on my kitchen worktop, next to my sink, looking great with other accessories, and doing a much much better job than my old salad bowl covered with a plate! A liner bag gets filled within just about a week and it never ever smells. I feel I have now completed all my efforts towards the recycling of food, in a very satisfactory and very happy way!

Perfect (for Us) Design, Size & Dimensions
Nice upgrade from using a basic bowl with a lid. Exactly what I was looking for, thank you!A kitchen scraps receptacle with:* an attached flip-lid that we can operate with a light touch from a knuckle (or flick of a wrist, or close of a drawer), with no soiled-bottomed lid that you have to pick up (with your potentially messy hands) and set down somewhere.* a sturdy and comfortable handle that makes it easy to lift out from or set down in a cabinet or drawer, to relocate around the kitchen, and carry out of the house— with no worries about a messy slip up.* a low profile that fits perfectly inside a drawer beneath our kitchen sink. Even if we happen to leave it out on the countertop or table, the low profile, clean lines and tint (which is relatively color-coordinated with our space) makes it inconspicuous.* size/width that gives you plenty of space to accurately slide or drop material inside without making a mess over the edges. Also, the product's lightweight material and shape make it easy to hold (with one hand) against the edge of the counter/ under your cutting board, if that's what feels right.* removable top and smooth lines make it easy to tip out contents and give the caddy a quick swish to rinse and keep relatively clean. We empty ours at a rate of daily to every-other day, so odor and fruit flies aren't an issue. (Not that it would be the product's fault if these were our issues. It's a receptacle not a composter, folks!) It was good of the manufacturer to include a complimentary carbon filter, nonetheless. Maybe someday we'll use it.A thoughtflly-designed product— thanks again!
