Does this highlighting kit come with any toner, in case you get the orangey blonde ?

Yes, it comes with a purple toner that you leave in after you wash it out with the shampoo they provide.

why are there 2 packets of Lightening Powder in the box? and only 1 developer. It says use "all", but i dont think youre supposed to use both packets?

I have short hair and only do the crown, but I always have used all as directed. My hubby and I have been using this product for over 30 years. When I get a haircut I am always told how professional the frosting looks. But if I can use half of the developer I could get two uses out of the box. Not sure though if that is the idea of two packets of lightening powder. And if I pierce top of Protective Creme will it be effective 3 mo later when I do another frost? Same if I use half of Creme developer. Both can be recapped, but effective after opening??  I especially LOVE the silky ‘after’ shampoo that comes with it. I wish L’Oréal would sell that separately for everyday use.

thank you for having asked this question since I had the same question. They don’t make it clear that both packets are to be used so it’s easy to think that they accidentally put duplicate packets in the box.  it would be much clearer if they stated to use both packets of lightning powder rather than “all“ lightning powder interpreted as only one packet.

Can i use this without the cap? i like the color i get from it, but i don't want to use a cap

I never use the cap; I toss it out.  It’s easy to apply the product with your gloved fingers.  It’s almost foil proof.  Brush hair thoroughly before starting.  Do a strand test, so u know how long to leave this product in your hair. Apply to one entire strand at a time.  Start from the back of the head towards the front.  Pull your hair up with a clip & put the clear plastic bag over it to retain heat & speed up processing.  Rinse out in the recommended time or according to your test strand from earlier.  Rinse out in the shower.  Apply shampoo packet.  Rinse again.  Towel dry.  Apply toner & leave in.
