I am not a professional expert, but I understand that batteries are either engineered to deliver a short period of high current (a car battery), or a sustained steady current (marine). When I visited Walmart (batteries should be purchase locally for safety) batteries were clearly marked as such, but more point-of-sale information would have even welcome. Incidentally, my research did indicate that regular maintenance was crucial to obtain an optimal life. Have fun with your boat, and stay out of that cursed weed!
