Ohuhu 7"x10" Mix Media Pad Art Sketchbook 62 Sheets for Painting Drawing | Large Sketch Book - 120 LB/200 GSM Heavyweight Paper - Spiral-Bound Mixed Media Paper for Watercolor Acrylic Christmas Gift

I chose this pad because it had spiral binding & the most pages I could find at a reasonable price of just a little over $20. I'm a beginner at watercolor painting (youtube education in process, lol!) and wanted to create a bound journal of paintings over which I will hand letter some of my favorite Bible psalms. The photo shown was done with 100% student grade (cheap) watercolor paint. There is MINIMAL WARP on the paper when dry (and I am overly generous in my water application)! My only caution is having to work with the warp while painting. I had to press in the middle of a warp with the top of a brush to get the page to lay flat enough so the color didn't bleed off the warp. Not a big deal for me, but it might frustrate others. I didn't use a hair dryer on this painting, so I don't know if using one will dry the page flat or "push" the paint around. Overall, I am happy with the pad & recommend it for making a keepsake practice journal, but not necessarily for a professional grade finished artwork.

Smooth, bright, white 200 g/m, 120 lb paper. Has a very light tooth that is perfect for colored pencils, but still smooth enough for fine line ink and great for neocolors 2. Some light warping with watercolor and gouache paints, but stands up well. Perfect for acrylic markers. The sketchbook has a sturdy back board, so great for art on the go. The 8.5x5.5 is a great size, and I LOVE that it has so many (62) pages!

Nice quality paper that works well with different art supplies. The pages are thick and hold up great. Highly recommend.

The quality is great especially for oil pastel colors. It is definitely a great buy for the price!

I would actually reach for this over most of my Canson pads for use with a lot of different pens and markers. If you plan on doing calligraphy or lettering, you're in for an uphill battle. It does have great bleed through resistance meaning you can actually use both sides of a page. But that texture makes calligraphy and lettering a pain. I like the versatility of the size, it's big enough to use for multiple types of work, from art journaling to neurographic art to cartooning or field sketching, this does have a lot of uses. I personally love the wire binding because it can actually lay flat. It's cover is clean and when the wrap is removed, it looks better on a shelf or coffee table than many other similar pads because it holds up to drops and being thrown in a bag many times. The biggest surprise has actually been that the wire binding and hard cover survived my cat deciding it was the enemy for taking my time and attention from her. If you want an art journal or general pad for most uses, this is a good choice.

I love the multi-use paper in these pads. They have just enough “tooth” to make them suitable for pencil sketching but are sturdy enough for a variety of wet media. In addition, each pad comes with a vinyl sheet to prevent wet media from soaking through. I have uses alcohol based markers, watercolor brush pens, acrylic pens, and watercolor pens satisfactorily on this paper. I do not recommend this paper for pen and ink drawing but it does do well with ultra fine markers. I have several of these pads I use for a variety of purposes.

The quality of this book is wonderful. The paper is heavy enough to use with alcohol markers (which have a high tendency to bleed through) though I would recommend their market pad for that for the best value and quality. However when they say mixed media they mean it. The spiral binding allows you to easily work both sides of the page. The colors are vibrant and beautiful on the page and you can easily use this with a variety of mediums. Just be sure you know the medium. I don't use watercolor but I would assume it may be best to isolate the page for that as it would be wet. For colored pencil, pen, marker, acrylics, etc. though, it's an all around great sketchbook.

De todos los cuadernos que se venden en la página, este me parece perfecto, grosor de las hojas bueno como para cualquier estilo de dibujo o pintura, muchas hojas, tiene un acetato, y las pastas resistentes.

Caderno ótimo. Vem com uma folha de proteção. Chegou bem rápido.

I generally prefer 300 gsm weight (which is better for watercolours although some 200 gsm paper pads are pretty good too). However, this paper is great for graphite pencils, ink washes, watercolour pencils and light watercolour painting. There is a very slight texture to the paper. The paper is a brilliant white so the marker colours look especially bright and outstanding on it but this paper absorbs a lot more of the marker than the Ohuhu Marker Pads (which will shorten the life of my markers). In my opinion, compared to the Ohuhu marker pads, this mixed media pad produces more brilliant marker pictures. Overall, I still think that this is a really good buy!

Ainda não usei, mas chegou bem rápido e sem nenhum defeito. Vem com uma folha de EVA inclusa para colocar embaixo da folha em que você está desenhando, para evitar manchar as demais. Atualização: Acabei de usar e gostei muito, tentei primeiro marcadores, mas quero tentar tintas também, como guache, aquarela e acrílica, já que o papel diz suportar trabalhos secos e molhados. Para os marcadores eu usei o papel de EVA que vem incluso, para evitar que manche as outras folhas e pretendo usá-lo também quando for pintar com tinta, pra evitar que se der algum problema, molhe as outras folhas. Mas enfim, espero que suporte as tintas também.
