I gave it to my daughter for her birthday- it was her favorite gift.

YOU WILL NEED OVERNIGHT SHIPPING!**If you are looking for ikura, then you will need to wash and brine your salmon roe. There's a pretty good tutorial on noreceipes with Marc. Just google "how to season ikura". I recommend doubling the amount of sake in his recipe. Also, you can use instant dashi soup base (like hon-dashi) instead of making your own dashi from scratch.Taste:It's a little fishy straight out of the box and not as plump since it was frozen (none of them were smooshed or misshapen though). During cleaning, I noticed a few small pieces of skein still attached to some groups of roe, which contributed quite a bit to the fishy taste.After cleaning and brine, the fishy taste was barely detectable, they all plumped up and had a nice glossy look. Delicious with rice!

When I purchased this product it was significantly cheaper. They have more than doubled their price. It was five stars for the former price not this one.I've ordered from other companies, and the salmon was heavily salted and not sushi grade.This salmon roe was very lightly salted, extremely fresh and the taste was exactly the same as my favorite restaurants.If you are like me, and just absolutely love salmon roe this vendor is for you! They delivered it on a safe package the ice pack was half melted but kept the sushi fresh for two additional hours before I came home.

Great packing and fast shipment. Caviar size is small (we liked that), but it did seem to be not super fresh, as we could feel a bit of a fish smell, which is not there when the caviar is very fresh and was not stored for long. However, it was still very good so this should not preclude someone from purchasing it.

bought for New Year's party and what a disappointment! delivery service was very quick though for that 2 stars. but caviar itself was far from fresh I posted the picture where you can see that some of the caviar, of light yellowish color which is almost dried up, taste is also far from normal, bitter, not fresh, not the one I got used to, from my past purchases of the same brand. I used to buy it from russian stores, but then stopped, because taste was horrible and it was never fresh, so I blamed it on stores and decided to try to buy from amazon, since there's been good reviews. It is very disappointing to see such bad change, especially considering the fact that it costs $99.

Not one egg cracked . Very tasty . Worth the money spent . Will order again . Came fast and very well packaged .
