After getting my blood results, one of the problems was high Cholesterol - not too bad, but still. I was looking for different supplements, not wanting to go on meds, so was happy to get this one at discount in exchange for honest and unbiased review.PROs:- FORM: Easy-to-swallow capusulsCONs:- INGREDIENTS: Unfortunately it is unclear from the label how much of the each ingredient the blend has. Just has a total of blend amount of 1800mg per 4 capsules. Suma (root), Red Yeast Rice, Orange (peel) and Guggul (gum resin). ---> Suma Root helps blood circulation, increase your strength and endurance. Suma root is sometimes called “Brazilian ginseng.” A slightly misleading name though, as suma is not actually part of the ginseng plant family, it just has similar, energizing qualities ---> Red yeast rice is a traditional Chinese medicine that has been purported to lower cholesterol. Studies have shown that red yeast rice side effects are mild, like headaches, heartburn, and upset stomach. Red yeast rice contains a substance classified as a prescription drug (monacolin K, also known as lovastatin) ---> Citrus peel shows cholesterol-lowering qualities. HOWEVER... Orange peel extract should be used with caution, however, for side effects are possible. Orange peel contains synephrine, which produces stimulant effects similar to those of ephedra. Some general stimulant effects you may experience from synephrine are feeling nervous or restless as well as trouble sleeping. Synephrine is associated with cardiovascular system effects that include high blood pressure or hypertension, arrhythmias, that is, irregular heart rhythms, a fast heart rate or tachycardia, and fainting, heart palpitations as well as chest pain ---> Guggul (gum resin). Guggul is made from the sap (gum resin) of the Commiphora mukul tree, which is native to India. This tree has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. Guggul contains substances that lower cholesterol and triglycerides. One of these substances also decreases the redness and swelling that occurs in some types of acne. It can cause side effects such as stomach upset, headaches, nausea, vomiting, loose stools, diarrhea, belching, and hiccups. Guggul can also cause allergic reactions such as rash and itching. Guggul can also cause skin rash and itching that is not related to allergy. These adverse reactions are more common with higher doses, such as 6000 mg per day.- QUANTITY. Ok. The bottle has 90 capsules with requirements to take 4 daily. So why can't a manufacturer make it a 1 month (30-day supply) of 120 capsules. Why 90? If it was 3 times daily, I would understand. This really doesn't make any sense and needs to be revised. And manufacturer tells you to try this for full month? Huh?? How?- PRICE. $21.95 for not even 30 days (for 22 days) - this is definitely high.- MAKING ME FEEL WORSE. After I started using it, shortly started having irregular heart rhythms and a fast heart rate with pain. Looking at the ingredients, I believe Orange Peel could've cause this for me. Obviously it's all individual, but please be careful and consult with your doctor about ingredients.

I purchased this natural cholesterol reducer from Ageless Bounty to give to my daughter. She is young and an athlete, however, her cholesterol is slightly elevated so I thought she could definitely benefit from a natural supplement to help her reduce her overall cholesterol levels. My husband's side of the family has a familial history of elevated cholesterol, so I am confident she has inherited this condition. The bottle arrived just as advertised, but with a white lid. You can see my images below. My only issue with this product is the number of servings and number dosage. The directions require 4 capsules daily and there are only 90 capsules in the bottle. This leads to 22 dosages. Why not a full month at least? Why so many capsules? Just not convenient, especially for a young person. This is the first time I have used this product other than another known brand over the counter. So far it has been well on my stomach and in 3 weeks I go for a complete blood check and physical. I will give a better write-up on this after the 21st of July.
