Fabulous, Fun Sequel!
I've been trying to finally get to those trilogies and series that I have been putting off, either continuing or finally finishing and this one was high on my list. Yes I realize it is December but better late than never right?Darynda Jones has quickly become one of my most favorite authors. Her books are always riddled with humor, sarcastic witty one liners, memorable characters and a fast moving plot, all attributes a girl like me loves in her reading material so it was no wonder this trilogy appealed to me so much.Having read the first book and liking it, I'm not sure what took me so long to pick up the rest of the series and continue but I'm so very thankful that I finally did.Filled with Jones' trademark humor that I think her PNR series is famous for, this really was a fun read and a great sequel to the first, in fact, I think I loved it even more than I remember loving the first.Jared is almost like a miniature Reyes in his brooding dark good looks ways and if Charley had a little sister, you can bet that Lor would fit the bill perfectly. With a cast of fun and lovable characters, an action filled plot that will keep you guessing and on your toes, paranormal woo hoo and a romance to swoon over, this was such a fun book to read and reminded me all over again why I wanted to read it in the first place.I can't wait to dive right into the last book and see how it all ends.

Great Series so far!
First I want to say that I really do like this series. The story line is great, the characters are great etc. But I have one complaint. Spoilers ahead:First let me say I understand why Jared did the things he did (his darkness had taken over) and I would have forgiven him sooner or later but it seems as if Lorelei swept it under the rug. She says how deeply hurt she is (by the kiss with Tabitha) even though she knows he was taken over by the darkness but she couldn't forget, AND he tried to kill her and all he does is apologise ONCE and that's it. And she told him it wasn't his fault. Yeah it technically wasn't but he should still be groveling, and she should be telling him how much it hurt for him to do that. Nothing was resolved at all. And it infuriated me! I also didn't like the fact that Jared wasn't in this book that much. I REALLY hope to see there relationship grow in book 3. And hopefully Lorelei will grow a little back bone when it comes to Jared. Don't let him get away with stuff girl. And stop being ok with him trying to kill you. It's not cool. 😀 I do recommend this series but be prepared to be aggravated at times. Lol.

Teen Angst in the Supernatural World
Darynda Jones became one of my favorite authors when I discovered her Charley Davidson series. I love her snarky one liners, her strong female characters, and her hot immortal leading men.Lorelei MacAlister lost her parents when she was six, the same day Satan’s second in command entered her body, where he has remained dormant. She knows he is there, like a time bomb waiting to go off, but so far – nothing.Jared Kovach, the Angel of Death, came to town and saved her life when she was a teenager and her life became even more surreal. While Lori has a crush on Jared, he is staying close to her to protect her but avoiding a romantic relationship. And then there are her high school friends, her grandparents, and the church members who watch over her. She has a strong circle of friends and family while struggling with the supernatural aspects of her life.Darynda gets the high school social structure, the struggles with being a teen, and the resentment of parental control (in this case it is her grandparents). I really enjoyed the story.

I really like this book series
I really like this book series. I just love the funny, sarcastic wit of Loralie and her friends. Their friendship is precious, they are like siblings and have each others back even during life a death situations.Death, Doom and Detention was even better than previous book. I felt an even bigger connection to the characters, I was more invested this time and we get to find out more Lor's background. This book is action packed. All sorts of secrets come out, people all over town are acting crazy, new people show up and new supernatural beings show-up. Fights are breaking out all over the place, Lor ends up with a new power and Jared ends up on the wrong side.I love all the main characters in this book; Cameron and Jared's relationship it is just hilarious and we get to see more of Cameron's personality. A couple of complaints; first, I still don't like the fact that Glitch has feelings for Brooke, they have a really awesome friendship that is like brother and sister, so I just don't see why romantic feelings had to be written in. The second things is I don't like how Glitch is always picking fights with Cameron. He know that Cameron could kill him very easily and he knows that Cameron has a short switch so I don't understand why he actually has to physical attack Cameron. The trio use wit and barbs all the time with each other, Glitch could have used the same tactics on Cameron. However, I still love the couples that Jones has put together. I feel that both Jared and Loralie, as well as Cameron and Brooke are perfect for each other. The war is on it's way and honestly I have no idea where this story is headed. I don't have a clue to how this war is going to be stopped/finished, I don't know who will survive, and more importantly I have know idea what they are going to do with the sleeping demon inside Loralie. I am looking forward to having all my questions answered in the final book of the Darklight series, Death and the Girl He Loves.

Brilliant read
This book has all the fun and snarky wit that i have come to love from Darynda Jones. This is the second book in the series and it just keeps getting better...angels, demons whats not to love and its made so much better by Darynda's writing bringing humour and wit to everything she does. I read this book in near enough one go, I just couldnt put it down and it was finished the day i got it.Things are going from bad to worse for Lorelei, not only does she have a demon taking up permanent residence inside her, a crush on the angel of death who now seems to be avoiding being alone with her, someone has now taken it upon themselves to try and kill her....shes not having the best week and when everyone in school starts to board the crazy train she doesnt think things can get any worse.....she'd be wrong! Right in the middle of everything Jared seems to switch sides and joins everyone else in trying to kill her, surely if he doesnt want to date her he could just say.Now Lorelei, her best friend Brooklyn and Glitch and her guardian Cameron have to figure out a way to save Jared, the students at school and keep Lorelei alive long enough to be the fill the prophecy and save the world.I highly recommend this book, but you definately have to read the 1st book before this.

Achtung Suchtgefahr!
