Just what I expected, and wanted.
This is a great food dehydrator (although, it is my first one, so not compared it to any other brand).I am really impressed as to the amount of surface area it provides for drying, there are six drying racks. It's quieter than my dishwasher, so a win in my opinion, and the digital display is very simple to navigate - selection of time and temperature. I love it!

it's good
I bought this on a whim, it's really good but I've not really used it as much as I thought I would. Dehydrating food takes a lot of time and patience. I would recommend this if you grow your own food as you can ensure nothing goes to waste, I also recommend buying a book on dehydration so that you have a good idea of how long each type of food will take otherwise you could end up wasting a lot of hours using the trial and error method.

Works well, but noisy.
Effective dehydrator, but noisy. Like that you can buy extra trays

great product for drying herbs, and
... other produce from the garden or stores.Tip to using economically though is to fill it as much as possible for each use as drying times are long, sometimes 24hrs or more. Any device running for that time is going to be heavy on electricity usage, so make sure to fill to capacity, as much as possible, each time it's running. It's easy to use and versatile for accommodating many sizes of produce, and helpful produce drying times listed in accompanying guide.

great value for the price.
The size suits me well - not too big for one person ( 77 yr old woman!) to dehydrate garden produce. I make green powder from older green leaves and use this to up my mineral intake. Easy to use and reasonably quiet in operation. Very happy with this.

Does the job!
Doesn't take up too much room. Adjustable racks. Mine has been on constantly with various items, especially when I've found reduced items in the shops đ Drying time is very reasonable. Ideal for first dehydrator. I'd look at getting a larger cabinet one for more options to make things like yoghurt and steel trays with no hole in the middle to make emptying the trays easier. That's in the future for now at least and this one is more than adequate at present!

Excellent capacity
Extremely good value for money. I like having the option to buy more tiers if necessary, but its quite large and the 6 trays give plenty of capacity. The trays are very light of a quite brttle type of plastic and it's not unlikely they may break if not treated carefully, but I pack my dehydrator back in the box between uses, and this may be a false statement. Just be gentle. It's not very quiet but you can switch it on overnight if you like, and extremely easy to use.So far I have used it for mushrooms over past 2 months, and I love the scent of drying mushrooms permeating the room when it's running.Excellent piece of kit. Highly recommend it.

Does Not Dehydrate Properly â Works Like an Oven, Not a Dehydrator
I purchased the Andrew James Digital Food Dehydrator with the hope of making healthy snacks like banana chips and dried meats, but unfortunately, it did not perform as expected and I ended up returning it.Main Issue:The biggest problem I encountered is that the machine simply didnât dehydrate food properly. It doesnât seem to âdrainâ moisture out of the food as a dehydrator should. Instead, it works more like a mini oven, circulating warm air without removing enough moisture from the food. As a result, items like fruits and meats took far too long to dry, and some parts were still too moist by the end of the process.Uneven Results:Even when I adjusted the temperature and timer according to the guidelines, the dehydration was very uneven. Some parts of the food dried out while others stayed damp. I expected a consistent, uniform result, but it was more like baking than dehydrating.Too Slow and Noisy:On top of the poor dehydration, the machine took hours longer than expected to dry even small batches of fruit. The drying process was so slow that I gave up after trying to dry banana chips for over 12 hours. It also gets quite noisy after running for a while, which added to the frustration.Inadequate for Proper Dehydration:In the end, the Andrew James Food Dehydrator did not provide the results I was looking for. It failed to properly dehydrate my food, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a true dehydrator. Itâs more like an oven with fans, and it doesnât do the job effectively. I ended up returning it and will be looking for a better, more reliable dehydrator.
