What is the harvest date of this oil? Description says it's almost 2 years old.

This is our award winning 2019/20 Harvest, produced between November of 2019 and January 2020. It is almost out of stock and this is why we have it on sale at this price.

What is the polyphenol content?

Good day and thank you for your interest in our product!

Our "Chef's Selection Classic" has around 250-300 mg/kg polyphenols during production and it is our most delicate label. Our "Family Reserve" and "Family Reserve Organic" polyphenol levels are at 410 and 720 mg/kg respectively. These two will be available again shortly.

Please note, we use the HPLC chemical method of testing the phenolic content which is the only method recognized by the International Olive Council. Other methods of testing will give much higher number results -usually in the thousands- for the same oil.

This used to be 30$?? Why is it 50 now? Is that perminant?

Good day, this is James from PJ KABOS and I would like to thank you for contacting us.

Indeed, there has been a significant price change from the previous harvests to the current 2022/23 harvest (from about $35 to $50). The reason is the increase of the olive oil commodity price (aka ‘producer price’) between now and then. The 2022/23 harvest olive oil commodity price went up around 55% (!) compared with the previous harvests, on a global scale. This is mostly due to the reduced global olive oil production which took a major hit, mostly due to climate change. The huge price increase of energy, fertilizers and logistics didn’t help the situation either...

And this price increase directly affected our ‘Delicate’ label which is also our most economical one and greatly dependent on the base, 'producer price'. For our other higher priced, ‘Medium’ and ‘Robust’ labels we absorbed the entire price increase and kept it the same for the most part.
