which one is better? chi or Remington?

The answer to this question is in terms of what you're looking for from  your hair straightener. Chi is more expensive model, and is used by many salon professionals. The heat settings are more fine tuned and the plates are thicker and ionized, so your hair gets straighter faster. For someone who straightens their hair every single day..this is a better options because it'll last longer. Remington is a good alternative at a cheaper price for someone who likes to straighten their hair but doesn't do it all the time. Week/monthy maybe. It does heat up quickly and straightens your hair pretty well w/out burning the ends. It takes longer in time than the CHI straightener does. I personally like the Remington more, only because I don't use it all the time. I probably use mine on a weekly or monthly basis...or just for special occasions. It gets the job done w/out burning/damaging my hair. I have long (to my waist) thick wavy/curly black hair, and I get my hair straight in about 25-35 min.My roommate has the CHI. She has shorter hair (about shoulder length) that's course but straight.  She uses the Chi straightener on a daily basis to keep the frizz down and to maintain the shiny look in her hair. She gets her hair straight in about 5-15 min. I hope this helps. =

Can I use it in European plugs?

I bought this curling iron last time; the moment I plugged in the European outlet, it fried the iron and shorted the outlet right away. No. But hot irons in general should basically *never* be used on wet hair, unless they have some kind of blow dryer built into it.
