Normal game play is about an hour but will probably be a little longer first time while you consider the many options.

The instructions are, but the majority of the game uses icons so its not too difficult to play with people once they are taught.

No it is all one piece so it’s “portrait mode” only and it’s very large. We usually sit on the sides of it, but the game is sideways to us when we do that. Not too bad for two players.
