This kettle is my first electirc kettle, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it works like a charm and is a great addition. I was of the mind who needs one more kitchen appliance, but this is so handy and feel safe than my former stove kettle. It looks great on my white tiled counters.

Definitely heats the water quickly. Heavy duty, hasn't failed yet and I boil lots of water in this kettle every day. Handle is good but lid is not. If your hands are wet at all, it's difficult to grasp the lid. Grasping it with just one hand can also be difficult, even with dry hands.I recommend this kettle but it needs a new lid design.

Full pot boils in about 6 minutes. I bought it for 15.00/used like new because the last 3 kettles I had died within a year or less. They were off-brands. I know from experience that Black and Decker has amazing customer service, so I'm not worried about any problems. This kettle feels solid. The base could be a little heavier so it would stay in place, but that's also true of all the ones I've had before. The style is a little retro mod, which I like. There's no silicone grippy bit on the lid, so if your fingers are wet, it can be a little tricky to remove. I do like that there is no hinge on the lid. The hinged lids can be more difficult to clean.Notes on care: boil some vinegar in it when you see whitish deposits. Those deposits are the minerals from yout tap water. They will flake off and make your hot beverage look yucky if you don't run some vinegar regularly. If you use bottled or distilled water, you won't get the deposits. Also, wipe it down with vinegar to get the white water spots off the outside. Good kettle, good price, good company.

I was completely shocked to see that this was all made of plastic. I can’t imagine how many Thermo plastics would be released into water that would be boiled in this container over and over and over I did not use it because I immediately found out that it was plastic, I thought it had been powder coat painted white Like a reasonable person would’ve assumed I never would’ve imagined plastic. I bet the bullet and bought a stainless steel Brivelle brand instead and I love it.

Great for heating water, milk for coco. I waited a while before writing my review because I wanted to see how it held up. It's been a couple of years now and still going strong. The kettle is very easy to use, cleans up easily and is a good value for the money. The fill level is clearly marked and easy to read, the size and weight even when full is very manageable.
