I loved the book. It was one of my favorites of her. I have 3 books of her, counting with this. I first knew her writing when i found a book at my work. Its very easy to read. I really recommend!!

The first thing that grabs your attention is the sumptuous cover design. It really is sumptuous in its design. One of my favourites of 2015. This is a book that I chose to review after a recommendation from a fellow book reviewer, and I am so pleased that I did. ‘The Little Paris Bookshop’ by Nina George is simply beautiful. Every now and again a book comes along and takes you on a journey and not just the characters but also the person who is reading it. ‘The Little Paris Bookshop’ is it. This is the story of Jean Perdu who owns a book shop, but no ordinary book shop, this happens to be a floating book shop a barge on the Seine. Jean describes this as a floating apothecary he shares with two stowaway cats. Living a solitary life by choice. Here is the premise of the story. Jean hands out advise to booklovers and buyers and chooses the appropriate book, but there another part of Jean’s life that he is about to confront thanks to a new neighbour (Catherine) who forces Jean to confront his past a lost love who fled their apartment some 21 years previously. So the floating apothecary sets off on a journey a journey of discovery for Jean Perdu, but as we discover not everything goes smoothly so there is a few extra passengers collected along the way including Max a bestselling author with writers block there is a living to be earned as they sail so some books will end up used as a form of currency. This book is primarily a journey to unlock the past, discover new friends and lost loves. I simply adored the characters that Nina George created and premise of the story. There is laughter and also tears along the journey. I also know that for some readers this will also be a journey for similar reasons so in some ways the floating apothecary works its magic on the reader. A journey I did not want to come to its end. Simply loved ‘The Little Paris Bookshop’. If you see this gem on the shelf in your local book shop. Pick it up and let the floating apothecary take you on a journey.

It's a beautiful book written by Nina George. It's a very poetic novel, touching upon many aspects of life of bookshop owner Jean Perdu. I loved this book, be it the journey, the way it's written, so mesmerising. As soon as I finished this, i felt an emotional lingering and sadness in a beautiful way. Tip: You should NOT read this to finish it, you should read this to savour it. It's about journey, as compared to destination. I was bit sceptical initially seeing reviews on good reads, but after finishing this, I could say i am deeply satisfied that I read this amazing book. The only downside is quality of book, it had some black marks when seen from top..I even ordered replacement, but it came with even worse marks. The page quality was decent, though.
