Sakkas Lady Mary Jacquard Corset Style Bodice Lightweight Handkerchief Hem Dress

I have many clothing pieces from Sakkas and have always loved the fit/color/fabric/details of those; and I was not disappointed when I received this newest style! The pro's: The fabric (I got the white dress) is really pretty: satin details & embroidery on white cotton. The fit is flattering and comfortable BUT: I would not say this an absolute one-size-fits-all. To me it seems its really for sizes 8-14. So if you are very small/petite, it will be too big, and if you are size 16, or very busty, it will be too small. I'm a 14 and it fits me perfectly. Another thing I like about this company is that you can expect Sakkas clothing to look exactly the way it does in their photos. The con's: Sakkas fabrics are prone to wrinkling and their more intense colors do bleed when you wash them (as I said, I have many of their clothing line pieces!). So some washing/cleaning recommendations for ALL Sakkas clothing items: hand wash COLD water and hang to dry, then gentle iron OVER a press cloth (to avoid shiny spots). One other tip, suggested in another review, is this one: Add a little Rit color fixative to the handwash of darker colors to make them more colorfast. Lastly Do NOT machine wash or these clothes will have a very short life! All-in-all, another very pretty & flattering style from Sakkas at a bargain price.

This dress is very comfortable and the sea foam color is simply beautiful. When it was worn this past weekend it received lots of compliments. At first I was worried about the whole "one size" thing but it actually really does fit a variety of sizes. My daughter wore one, of the two dresses purchased (different colors) and wears a size 0 in juniors jeans. She simply tightened the laces on the corset top and the dress fit beautifully. I have no complaints about this dress at all. For those curious, I didn't see it mentioned in the description, the dress is supposed to be hand washed. This dress is even prettier in person in the picture. Exactly what I wanted. As far as looks go this would get 6 stars in my book. I just wish it would have been a little better made. I could tell, right out of the package that it was going to end up coming apart a little bit and unraveling. So disappointing! But I kept it anyways just because it is just so beautiful. So I wore it once and it was ok until I washed it...by hand, drip dry. The part I new was going to come apart did and there was some fraying. It wasn't terrible, so I went to the store and bought some liquid stitch and fray stop and did my best to fix it. It is basically fixed although I have not washed it again to see if there are any more problems. Hopefully not because I just love this dress so much. If they could step up the quality of these I would definitely pay even more and buy more in several colors. But as it is I feel it is over priced for what you are getting. As far as the fit goes, it fit great! I am 5'4" with and average size and an apple body type (unfortunately). It is adjustable so I feel it would work for many different sizes and body types, except maybe not so much for the super skinny. If I had it to do all over again? I admit I would probably buy this dress again and suffer through fixing it and hoping it lasts just because it is that cute and I have yet to see anything else like it out there.

This is a lovely dress but definitely not one size. I'm 5'9" and 140lbs, usually a size S/M, this dress fits, but I think if I were any larger of a woman I would not fit into this dress. For tall girls, this hits at about mid-calf at the longest layer, not as long as on the model. And you pretty much can only wear this with a flesh colored bra, because the top is very see through. Overall though, I'm very happy with the dress.

I bought this dress in magenta, one size. I was nervous about the "one size" part because I usually wear a women's XL and was concerned the bodice might be too small. I definitely fill it out! These "Renaissance"-style dresses really look best on women with curves. I love the style of this dress, love the unconventional hem, and although the fabric is lightweight, unlike other reviewers who thought that made it cheap or shabby, I like it because it's very lightweight in summer. It's a great summer dress, very glad I bought it, and will buy more dresses from Sakkas.

This is my 5th Sakkas dress and I am in love! It's really hard to find dresses that fit me right (I'm size 4 with a disproportionately small chest, saggy post-baby skin, and my butt sticks out full to the back), but these are all so flattering, it's amazing. Huge confidence booster. I also find that they wash well on a delicates cycle, so even better. I got this one in magenta and I love it! Great color, doesn't look cheap like it sorta does in the picture (I'm still trying to figure out how the tops always look saggy on these big-busted models). It's just such a good dress. Love it.

I am 5'7 and 130 lbs, by no means a heavy girl. However, this tent-like dress could have fit several of me and still had room for a full-size kitchen and dining room. Basically, it was enormous. No amount of tightening the corset straps in the front could disguise how large this dress was. I tried everything from stuffing my bra to adding additional layers of clothing underneath - no success. It is also extremely thin and wispy, resembling a box of tissues rather than the feminine dress featured in the picture. I would not recommend the purchase of this dress unless you consider yourself a plus-size or have a tailor on tap.

Bought this for my daughter to wear to a Renaissance Fair. She was lovely in it and said it was very comfortable. The adjustable straps and bodice made it easy to adjust to her frame. Looks like it will wash well, but plan to cold water wash on gentle and hang to dry. Not sure if she would wear it again...not really her thing, but was an affordable choice for a fun outing.

Das Kleid ist wunderschön und passt perfekt (Ich trage Größe 40 bei 178cm). Es fällt sehr schön und trägt nicht auf:Ich werde mir das Kleid auf jeden Fall noch in einer anderen Farbe bestellen! Ich kann das Kleid für den Sommer nur empfehlen!

J' aime beaucoup, joli tissu, jolie couleur, taille parfaitement, reçu assez vite, parfaitement emballée peut faire office de robe pour sortir, si on l' associe avec une jolie veste, ou aussi style bohème avec une veste en jean ( par exemple) il faut voir au lavage, ( je pense le mieux à la main, eau tiède / pas du tout déçue, je recommande cette marque,

Vestido muy bonito, mejor que en la foto, el corsé se puede ajustar y queda muy bien puesto. Recomendable y da talla, la parte trasera es elástica.

Non è granché la qualità della stoffa ma si vede dalle immagini. È un abito senza pretese ma va bene così.

Really nice dress. I bought the mint one first. I ordered a one size in regular size but it is a bit tight on the bust.So for the Coral one, I went for the plus size. There is more room back is stretchable but not the front. I'm 5'4, 170 pounds, 36D ( Bust 42in, Waist 35', Hip 45'. I feel better in the plus size then the OS reg. Be aware of the color...it is not light orange but it is darker, more red.
