U can use the whip for anything. Air compressor will plumb straight to reel if preferred

Is this reel spring loaded so it can be mounted on the ceiling or does it have a crank and has to be manually rewound?

It is spring loaded and I don’t see any issue with mounting it to the ceiling.

can you fit more than 50' on the reel?

Very doubtful. It might squeeze out 10’ more but if it’s rolled up uneven, could get wedged against the wall/ ceiling
