POWERTEC AF1045 3-Speed Remote Controlled Air Filtration System (655/875/1060 CFM), Hanging Air Filter for Woodworking & Dust Collector, Air Purifier for Garage & Workshop (AF1045)

Works great for sucking dust out of the air. It has a squirrel cage fan inside, so it's very noisy. However, I'm using this in a tool room with three other fans going and usually a grinder, so the noise is tolerable. You can use standard-sized 12x24x1 filters, so you needn't overpay for the ones that this company sells. I put in MIRV13 filters from Nordic Pure and it captures a TON of dust out of the air. My white filters are usually brown within a week and I change them every month.

This thing is big! :)But it's effective and not particularly loud. I ended up putting mine on a high shelf instead of hanging it. Every few times that I use it I'll shop vac the exposed filter to remove dust it has collected so I can prolong filter life. It collects a lot of dust, which is a good thing.

I can't even begin to explain how disappointing this experience has been. First of all, I was initially shipped a desk instead of this unit. Had to wait close to another week to have them ship the correct item. Second, this piece arrived today, and the UPS driver left it outside in front of our garage in the middle of a rain storm when we had a covered farmer's porch right next to the driveway. The boxing was soaked by the time I brought it in. After opening it up, it became immediately apparent that this unit was used. It was missing the outer filter and the inner filter was filled with dust. The outside of the unit was filthy as if it was sitting in a warehouse for some time. (the attached photos will show this). Also, there were no instructions, mounting hooks as shown in the Amazon photos and there was a random screw laying in the bottom of the unit when I took the inner filter out. I will be speaking with the mfg about all of these issues and how to make this whole. The boxing cannot be re-used as it was soaked and fell apart.Stay tuned......

Yeah this I just plugged it in looks like it's working as advertised it's really big it's like 2 ft by 3 ft it's huge buy a foot tall so make sure you have the space for it

as advertised.

This product is amazing.It was easy to set up and hang. Very easy to begin using.Once I sourced the appropriate filter for my needs it was everything I wanted out of an air filtration unit.

This thing generally works quite well - except when you walk into your shop and realize IT TURNED ITSELF ON. It’s happened numerous times. Must be a short in the timing circuits or something - and no, I didn’t leave it on.

I also have the jet 1000 air filter system and the powertec seems like a comparable unit for far less cost. Noise level, suction are almost identical in spec and reality. The powertec has a cheaper remote, the control panel seems cheaper and the internal dust filter is sectioned differently. However the jet filters fit the powertec so I could easily buy new filters. The overall metal box of the powertec appears to be slightly better built. So far I’m happy with my purchase. Beside I could have bought 5 of these for the price of another jet at the time I purchased it.
