Best Mountain Bike on the market for under $200.00
Couldn't be more happy with this purchase, well engineered and easy to assemble. Worth every penny as top in its class for a mountain bike under $200.00I did a lot of research before pulling the trigger on this bike and would suggest this to anyone on a budget.

Good and Cheap but need adjustments and change quanlity parts soon
Update: Although few small problems can be easily adjusted or fixed, but the big problem is the front fork, the fork is not symmetric and the front tire leans more to one side than the another side, so when hands off, the bike will go left by itself, also uneven tire wears are noticed. Since the fork is a manufacture issue. Only three stars for this product. Also the front wheel is not true, loud squealing noise from front brake even after new quality brake pads installed.Cons:1. Seat is very small, smaller than a road bike seat, consider that the bike is heavy and big, you may need to change it2. Unpleasant odor from tires, I had to move bike to patio, but the odor was still in the room during the night. Hope the odor will disappear soon3. Rear 7-gear change is not smooth, front 3-gear change is fine, may need adjustment4. Rear bike derailleur always has noise when pedal down, seems some misalignment of the chain and the derailleur5. Wheels are not true and some spokes are very tight and some are loose6. When hands off from handle bar, the bike tends to move to left, and after 50 miles I can see there's more tire wear in the left side than right side for the rear tire. I need to adjust the read wheel to see if any improvement7. After 50 miles, there's small play in bottom bracket, I think I need to change the BB with quality balls soon. The balls are cheap but tools are expensive, not an issue if you know how to change it.8. Handlebar length is very short, same length as a regular 26 bike9. Handbar height is not adjustable, but it seems not a problem10. The rear brake cable was over-tightened from factory and the cable was deformed11. The front brake cable is on the left side, and different from listed picture, the cable between the front V-brake is not straight because of the tension of the brake tubing, rear brake is fine12. Pedals are plastic, not sure how long it will lastPros:1. The frame seems solid2. It's a good workout machine because it needs muscle to ride fast, and it can exercise arm muscle too.3. Brake is good, though sometimes high pitch noise in low speed, but not loud, I need to change to quality brake pads soon anyway.Overall:I owned other KENT bikes, the quality of this K29 is not better than the other Kent bikes. But consider the price for a big bike, it's acceptable.

Less Than Big Box Quality for Sure
This bike has been nothing but trouble. After real problems assembling it (I've assembled three or four bikes over the years) I had to take it into a shop for help. They had to use a shorter brake cable and do several adjustments. All was well and I got to use it a handful of times over the last few months on simple bike rides with my young kids. At least, all was well until last night when I broke the chain while pedaling up a slight incline. So many hassles from this bike. Less than big box quality for sure.

Don't buy this bike!
i have only ridden it twice. i weigh 164 pounds and the seat broke. it's hard to steer and the air doesn't stay in the tires. Don't buy this bike. Tried to get my money back and i can't because I waited to long. What a waste of money.

This bike won't stay cheap...
Ok, so generally you can't expect too much from a bike in this price range but the Kent Thruster is a great looking bike at a high value price. It isn't a very comfortable bike, for the size the handle grips are small and the seat is less than comfortable. Those would be my biggest complaints until things started to go wrong...As noted from other reviewers, there are some sub par parts on this bike, plastic parts that break and even some metal parts that don't pass muster, as was my experience. On the third day riding this bike on my daily ride of about a mile pushing through an uphill. Not the best time as I came down hard on the seat which is less than forgiving on this bike... luckily I already have four children... Anyway after some choice words and a solemn walk home I examined the offending pedal to find the threads on both the pedal and crank had stripped off. Seriously, all of them, on both parts, gone; requiring that I not only replace the pedal, but as it was the right hand crank arm I'll need to replace the whole crankset as well.I'll do that myself but it represents about 80$ in parts and some sweat equity, taking the value out of the purchase price of the bike. I'll also have to keep an eye on the rear derailer also according to what others have said.and a half the right hand pedal sheared off while I was

Great bike for tall and larger men
This is a great bike, but at 5'11" this bike is almost too big for me. Flat footed, I clear the bar at about an inch, so bear that in mind. This bike is ideal for larger, taller men. Also, be prepared to do some adjustments on your tire spokes, (out of round), and brakes unless gifted with a mechanics aptitude. And on a humorous note, taking a bike to a shop you bought somewhere else is a challenge all of its own.

Very happy with the bike
Very happy with the bike, I little larger/taller than I expected. purchased for husband who is 5'11" 165lbs and he can only reach ground with toes while sitting on the bike. He was able to put the bike together within a couple hours and said it was "more time consuming than difficult". He says its a very comfortable ride!

Mala experiencia
