ChoffyBrewed Chocolate - Ultimate Choffy Starter Kit

I got a smaller sample pack directly from this company, and I'm really just writing a review here to keep track of the individual flavors I like and don't like. I think this company's products are great overall, and everyone has different preferences in chocolate, so a gift of a sampler pack is a great idea. But if you know their chocolate preferences, maybe this review will help you select something for them.I've also tried Crio Bru, and most of their flavors are so similar I can't tell them apart. :) But different brewing methods can affect taste (see below).Volta Dark (can't remember if it was French roast... maybe?) - dark chocolate, has coffee/espresso notes... my idea of almost perfect chocolate. A new favorite, I will definitely buy again. (Again, some people like their chocolate with fruity notes instead... if so, this one is probably not for you. But if you like coffee, you'll probably like this one). This flavor doesn't seem as acidy (in case coffee bothers your stomach, this might be the right thing to switch to).I tried another flavor right after this, and it was also very good, but I don't remember which one it is. I'll update if I figure it out through the process of elimination. :) I think it was similar but not as dark. (Maybe that was the French Roast)Volta Medium - very much like Crio Bru with a fruity / acidy finish. While I love Crio Bru overall, I double brew its beans and enjoy the second cup more because it gets rid of the acidy finish. (Haven't tried it with this flavor of Choffy, but a second brewing on other Volta flavors seemed too weak. Another thing that gets rid of most of the fruity/acidy flavor is to brew Crio Bru 10 minutes in an instant pot. Or just buy Choffy Volta Dark instead... then that fruity flavor is already gone. :) Haven't tried this flavor of Volta in an instant pot, but it didn't seem to change the Volta Dark). Anyway, the acidy flavor seems like it's not as much in this one as it is in Crio Bru, so while it's not my favorite, I am still liking it okay. Maybe a pinch of this in my Volta Dark would be good. :)Thanks!Ivory Coast Dark - It says there are Earthy notes, and boy are there! While I could mostly enjoy that one, it was a little too earthy for me, and it made me think of dirt. :)

I had tried 2 varieties of the Choffy and needed to order more. Found the variety pack with press bundle and decided to try it. Has given me a chance to try more roasts. And I love the press! The one I received was different from the picture but I love it! So much easier to clean than a regular French press.
