I ordered file cabinet to organize my household files. It is just the right size, very nice looking, and sturdy enough to last a very long time. The file drawers open and close smoothly and hold lots of standard hanging files perfectly. The smaller top drawer is perfect for extra empty folders and other office supplies. Handles were easy to install and drawer lock works great. I received right on time and in perfect condition. Great value for the price!

I wanted a small filing cabinet to organize my house and get all documents in one place. I read alot of reviews for different cabinets similar to this one. I finally chose this one because it had the added smaller drawer above the two main drawers. This is by no means like a heavy duty filing cabinet that you would find in a professional office setting. However, it is well made and more sturdy than even I thought it would be. Drawers slide easily and were plenty deep for my needs. Though I don't use the lock, it is a nice feature as well. Keys were on the lock mechanism inside the top drawer. Provided you know how to properly balance a filing cabinet (heavier things in the bottom), you should have no problem. I use Amazon Hanging File Folders and Smead Manila File Folders with this cabinet. So far, this filing cabinet is perfect for what I needed and I am very glad I purchased it. To me, it is a good value for the money. I will update this review should opinions change.

This is a nice looking and perfectly good unit, I have two, great for light home-office or dorm room use, but you get what you pay for, and if you're looking for a really solid heavy-duty filing cabinet, this is not for you. I would not use this in a busy office or business setting, or anywhere where it's going to get heavy use or be moved around a lot. But for simple home use and light filing needs it should be just fine. Good value for the price.

The product was exactly as described and works perfectly for what I wanted. I like that it has two full size drawers and a small drawer for miscellaneous supplies. The color looks exactly as pictured (I got that teal one) and the dimensions spot on. The only assembly required is attaching the handles and that took 3 minutes at most. The unit itself comes assembled. For causal home office use, this is great. If your looking for a more heavy duty version or one that has tip-over prevention, this is not it. It’s light weight, and all the drawers can be open at once. The metal being thin means it will likely dent or scratch easily but I haven’t had an issue with that yet. My printer sits on top but it could also slide under my desk to save space. The biggest con is the lack of feet or protective floor pads. I have my unit sitting on cardboard until I can get furniture pads to affix to the bottom as to not scratch up the floors. If it will be on carpet, then it’s all fine. I would recommend wiping it down first in case the metal lubricant is anywhere it shouldn’t be. The keys were beneath the foam packing material so give everything a good toss before thinking the keys are missing. All in all, I am very happy with this purchase.

I bought this file cabinet to use as a base to build a desk. Overall, it functions fine for this purpose. The drawers all open and close easily. It is very light for its size, and feels flimsy rather than sturdy. It arrived in a box that was lined on all sides, bottom and top with sheets of styrofoam, but still has a small dent on one side and a prominent scrape mark on the front. The hardware is a joke. I swear that the handles are hollow, and they can easily be bent. However, they are standard 4 inch handles, so I will replace them with some of better quality. This is being used in a private home office by two adults, so it will not get constant use, but if you are looking for a rugged beast of a file cabinet, then I would suggest that you keep looking.

In this price range this file cabinet is a good choice. It has the storage utility of 2 file cabinet drawers and the bonus of a small drawer for office supplies. However I would like to see Amazon or Hirsh Industries offer a more robust 3 drawer fine cabinet similar to this one. I imagine it might cost twice as much or more but would be built to last in a busy environment. I suspect the drawer tracks will be the first thing to wear out on this bargain priced unit.

Update. These boxes were clearly marked with another retailer's name as damaged merchandise. These are damage and sold as new. I ordered from the vendor these damaged items came from, and absolutely no problems. Just a few bucks more (because they aren't damaged). This is simply a scam. Everyone should know by now that these are cheap & flimsy. Unfortunately, that makes them difficult to ship. Check for dents & misalignment immediately and get on the return process ASAP. I'm trying to get 2, and this is the second batch that has been utterly destroyed. Also, the vendor wont' send a replacement, and will only send one packing slip, adding to the effort to return the damaged item.

I love this file cabinet! The two file drawers are large and deep, and the additional smaller top drawer is so helpful for storing smaller items. In addition, the cabinets have built-in hanging rods for hanging pendaflex files which is so nice and convenient as you don't need the additional hardware for the hanging files that some file cabinets require. I bought two of these to replace two old cabinets, and they have changed the entire appearance of my work area because they are so nice looking as well as functional. Plus, the cabinets were very well packed and arrived in perfect condition. I would highly recommend this file cabinet.

It solves my need perfectly. However I would suggest that it be manufactured with wall anchor functionality to prevent tipping when the top drawer is fully open and there is insufficient counterbalancing weight in the bottom drawer to offset the unequal weight distribution.

It’s exactly what I was looking for in a home filing system

The cabinet arrived and when I went to assemble it, I noticed that it was impossible to screw in one of the handles properly. It appeared that the holes for the screws in the handles were not quite deep enough. Also, there was a dent on the inside the bottom drawer. While customer service was not able to help with replacement parts, they did send out another unit to me at no charge, and I was able to take “the best of both worlds” and return the 1st cabinet. Pros: - Looks aesthetically pleasing. - Holds hanging files - Comes pre-assembled, except for the handles. - Lightweight, so easy for one person to lift, if needed (but for safety reasons, it would be good to have a friend help you). - Has 3 drawers, one small and two large. - The lock locks the top two drawers. (If you can’t find the keys, look in the 2nd drawer or check to see if they have fallen in the box. - Arrived quickly. - Customer service was helpful in resolving the issues I experienced, and the replacement arrived within a short time. Cons: - The handles do not always align properly with the holes for them in the cabinet, so you may still see a bit of the holes showing when you screw in the handles. This is a bit hit and miss. Sometimes they are fine, and sometimes they are not. They are a bit finicky. Unfortunately, replacement handles do not seem to be available, at least from Amazon, so they sent out another complete unit. - Handles stick out a bit, some remember to keep this extra length in mind if you are fitting the item into a small space. - The lock is not terribly sturdy, and only the top two drawers lock. - The cabinet itself does not appear terribly sturdy, and it doesn’t seem that the drawers can be taken all the way out should something fall behind the drawers. - Was a bit disappointing for the money spent, but it seems to be the best I can find at the moment that will fit in my space. - A black cabinet of the same design would have been about $50 cheaper. Not sure why white is more expensive.
