Does this come with a remote control for selfie?

No, this smartphone clamp does not come with a remote. It is, however, the only smartphone clamp I've ever found with jaws deep enough to securely hold my Samsung Galaxy S8 Active in an armored case. If you have a large-format smartphone in a case, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better clamp.

Is it any better than manfrotto mclamp or just newer, more expensive and supports wider phones? can it be used as a standalone holder like mclamp?

I have not used the McClamp. So don’t know how to compare this to that. But this universal clamp is great and fits into standard tripod base plates like my manfrotto or gorilla tripod. I do a lot of music video studio recordings with this and the XS plus max. I love this.
