Anasept Antimicrobial Skin & Wound Gel 3 oz. Tube

I first used Anasept several years ago while helping care for a wound on my elderly mother. It worked remarkably well, helping keep the area clean and supporting the healing process. I was impressed enough at the time that I kept the tube in my medicine cabinet long after the wound had healed. Recently, I developed some rough, dry, itchy patches of skin and was looking for something that might help. I came across the old tube of Anasept and decided to give it a try. To my surprise, it worked very well. The irritated areas became less itchy, the dryness improved, and my skin gradually returned to normal. I ended up using the remainder of that tube and purchasing another one. The gel is easy to apply, absorbs well, and doesn’t leave a heavy greasy feeling. A little goes a long way, and the 3-ounce tube lasts much longer than you might expect since only a small amount is needed for each application. It is a little expensive compared to some other skin care products, but in my experience it works, and that makes it worth the cost. While it is marketed as an antimicrobial skin and wound gel, I’ve now had excellent results using it both for wound care and for irritated, problem skin. Based on my experiences over several years, this is a product I keep on hand and would not hesitate to purchase again.

I get frequent abscesses and this is the gel the wound care specialist recommended. It is great, and unlike other gels I have used this does not burn. I feel like it truly did help my wound hill faster. It does not have any smell to it and it was easy to apply. I actually just apply a little bit to my dressing, when changing my wound dressing, but you can apply it to the wound itself. Just be careful not to contaminate the tube.

This stuff is incredible when you have a deep wound. I had a staph infection in my toe that required antibiotics. Once the infection finally came out it left a huge hole. 2 days of using this the hole is already almost filled in. This is also good for preventing infection in open wounds if you use it at the time of injury. Mine was a spider bite and got infected before I realized there was a real issue. Either way this stuff works before and after infection to heal wounds better than anything else I've tried.

Best item on the market for wound care. Comes in spray and gel. I’ve used both and couldn’t be more pleased. It provides a sterile environment with a antimicrobial protection.

I like that after spreading it on slough in the depth of a wound overnight, It appears to absorb some of the slough making it easy to remove with a cotton swab or gauze. What I dislike is the container, which makes it difficult to squeeze out a small amount. I have not been able to remove the top to overcome the problem of a big blog coming out at once.
