Might not be the best choice for sensitive listeners....
While this book is meant to be used with younger children than my own, it was still a nice way to introduce them to Frida. It was enough to peak our interest into learning more about her and wanting to look at more of her art(though a great deal of it is much darker than I want to read or show my children at this point). That said, even though I know Frida and her art were on the darker side, considering the age group this book is meant for, I was surprised at the choice of art featured within it. If you have super sensitive listeners, you might want to skip this one. My youngest is 7, but there are a couple of pages that got questionable looks. There's one which shows what looks like a stitched up neck and tears streaming down her face, though I couldn't find this one online to know for sure what's going on with the neck. It's possible it's an altered mirror image. The Two Fridas is also featured, which shows one version of her with a vein from her heart cut by scissors and dripping blood. The doll is cute, though, and makes a nice addition to our art study materials.
