Can this handle a 10440 cell?

Officially, no. Unofficially, use at your own risk. Many people have used a 10440 cell and has not damaged their light. Others reported it worked fine initially but then would no longer work with an alkaline or nimh. I briefly tried a 10440 when I got my tool aaa just to see if it worked and it did but went back to an eneloop for longer run times.

What's the difference between black lens and black reflector in the colors?

I don't understand the question. How is black involved? The reflector is silver, the lens is clear. The lens in this latest model has a bunch of tiny bubbles, or mini lenses, molded into the plastic. The beam is more even that that of earlier models. I thought my earlier ones were perfect. This newer one is more perfect.

Can a protected 10440 cell (slightly longer than AAA) be used?
