Swiss Gear SA9769 Red Laptop Backpack - Fits Most 15 Inch Laptops and Tablets

The best laptop backpack I've seen! Most laptop bags I've seen don't have much room for accessories, but this SwissGear definitely makes a great impression. In the rearward most compartment is the space for the laptop, which I face bottom-side towards the carrying side (not to damage the screen). In the same compartment, there are two mesh nets to hold a power cable and peripherals. Even with that much, I still had enough room to throw in some ethernet cable. The middle compartment had plenty of room for text books, notebooks or a small CD case and some tools. Also, there is a portable media player pouch at the top, that you can put your mp3 player in, and route the headphone cable through the provided slot right next the rear compartment zipper. This extra media player compartment is padded, so it won't scratch your screen, but won't absorb a large shock either. In the forward most compartment, you will see a plethora of compartments. Everything from a place to keep your keeps snapped in, room for some pens and sharpies, cell phone, SD cards and all! There are 2 zipper compartments in here as well, which is were I keep my MicroSD cards and USB dongles. The material that was used is very high quality, very attractive, and the stitching at the seems is also heavy duty, so I'm assuming I will use this backpack for years to come. A great feature I noted, was that the zipper handles have enlarges rings, so you can lock them shut, or run a notebook locking cable through the holes, and then attach the lock to the D ring on the carrying handle. I carry a lot of equipment in this bag, and the air-flow design on the back, along with the high-density padding helps out when carrying for long periods of time. Adjusting the straps for different body mass is a sinch. On the right carrying strap is room for your favorite Swiss Army knife, and on the left, is a loop for carrying your sun glasses. I'm 6'0" and weight 150 lbs, so I need the strap adjusted at a higher level to be comfortable with a full pack. The only annoyance I've had, is that the extra strap that used to pull down to adjust the strap, dangels down and can hit things, but this is an easy fix by wrapping the extra around the base of the strap a few times. In conclusion, I only paid around $50 including shipping, and was a very worthwhile investment. I recommend this to anybody in the IT field, or students on the go.

This is a great backpack. The trick is knowing whether this fits your laptop: IBM Thinkpad T42 14" Non-Widescreen - Fits perfectly in terms of footprint length and width. The slot though is bit wide because the laptop is so thin. Dell XPS M1530 15.4" Widescreen - Fits with the 1" of the side of the laptop (the silver trim) sticking above the padded section. Although it appears to be a perfect fit when open, the left and right corners of the laptop push against the unpadded top of the fabric when zipped. Don't drop the bag on its top or your laptop is gone! With a Dell XPS M1530 inside the bag, I am also able to pack a Nikon D70 + 18-70mm DSLR inside a Lowepro TLZ-1 camera bag within the main (center) compartment. I was very very surprised that it fit and was snug but still left room for other items. The top quarter of the shoulder straps (above the red trim on the strap) is an extremely thick elastic material that is reinforced by a strip of grey nylon webbing to prevent overstretching. I mention this because when the bag is packed down to 30lbs, it acts like a suspension system and reduces the load on your shoulder. This portion of the strap is not padded. Below this section, the shoulder straps are very lightly padded. My old North Face Wasatch bag with the same laptop + DSLR loaded was unmanageable in terms of balance and weight. The padding and suspension system on this bag makes it feel light even when fully loaded down. The ballistic materials has a very soft feel and is nowhere near as hard as 1000-1600 denier cordura normally found on north face/jansport hiking packs but it's well padded and the bottom is reinforced with several layers of fabric. Overall, everything on this bag just works. I really like it.

Just got this backpack in, this is the second Swiss Gear backpack I've owned. My first one is still in great shape after taking a beating for a year and a half, I bought this one so i could have a slimmer backpack for when i needed it. My observations so far, constructed as usual with high quality materials, the front pocket with the emblem is a little tight, wish the zipper went all the way down,but it has a ton of pockets, some of which because the zipper only goes down a little are hard to see...and get to. the middle pocket is a good size that will fit a couple of books or thick items. headphone pocket at top is is perfect for a mouse and holds it nicely. the laptop compartment has a mesh pocket that runs down the front stitched into to equal size mesh pockets. Good for a hard drive or small cords. The laptop pocket holds the laptop off of the bottom of the bag, theres a little space, about a inch. The only thing with the laptop pocket is my laptop is a new 15.6 asus, and it's tight at the top. Not a deal breaker but another inch at top would of been perfect. overall it looks sharp, well made, and smaller than my other one

I had been having trouble finding a good laptop backpack for a decent price. I was lucky enough to get this with a lightening deal, and it's good enough that I'd likely buy it again at the full cost. I have a 15" Asus laptop, and it fits right in the slot in the back of the biggest compartment. It's a bit snug, but I've had no problems with that. There is plenty of room in there for my laptop, a mousepad with a thick gel wrist brace, a small mouse, 3 large next books and a couple of 1" binders, and other random bits. Lots of small compartments in the smaller front compartment, and they fit several hands full of office supplies, my laptop charger, and other such things. Very sturdy, with really good straps. I've had little shoulder strain, even with the bag packed with textbooks and computer. The airflow space on the back must work, because it has yet to stick to my back (even in the heat of FL, walking back and forth on campus). The mesh pockets for water bottles are really sturdy, and have a lot of stretch. All in all, it's a fantastic backpack. Don't get it for a bigger laptop: you might be able to fit it in the big compartment if you don't put it in the designated pouch, but I'd give it a shot on someone else's bag before buying.

Ordered my backpack a couple days ago, and just arrived today. Since I'm in college and need to carry my laptop and books around, I was worried about space on some of the other bags, most importantly I wanted some protection for my laptop when I happen to have it in the bag with me, and I feel safe to say that I didn't feel too worried about carrying it around. The bag was designed with comfort along with durability. I've got enough room and pockets to carry some essential gears such as a portable drive, mouse, power adapters, books and what-not. It's feels durable enough that you won't have to worry about the shoulders ripping off and has enough padding that it makes it quite comfortable to carry around. Plus its got a side pocket for water bottles or other beverages, pockets on the strap for a cell phone, and a slot for you shades. If you're in college or know someone who is or plan on going, this is a great product to keep in mind or recommend. It's a great bag for those of you who have a long trek between classes by reducing some of the shoulder and lower back stress with the extra padding. Of course, it doesn't have to be used for students, just my personal opinion of the product as one. Travel or work, this will work just as well.

I dont know where to start from.I just loved this backpack. This is the first time i bought a quality backpack, this backpack feels so good. I'm a Mexican Medicine student that is living in another place and i have to travel a lot, this backpack is pretty neat to do the job. It protects my laptop and it can carry my big medicine books, it has lots of slots so i can put my pens, keys, controllers, chargers, etc and it works just fine. A big thing about this backpack is that when you lift it up with your back the backpack wont break like people said. I just love this backpack. ____________ It's been almost 2 years and i'm still using this backpack. The quality still feels the same.. and i've had no problems so far. I've used this backpack tons of times, travelling every friday and carrying stuff on it. I love the hidden pocket, that's where i can hide my keys or some stuff. I'm so glad i got this one because. I have a lenovo l420 and it was able to fit inside too. For this price this backpack was a decent and really good purchase.

This bag was bought to replace my basic old backpack for school purpose, same amount of books and computer now just seems so much lighter. Normally I had to bring a backpack and a laptop bag just to carry my everyday load, with the help of this new bag and it's exceptional trap design( thick trap and airflow) I can now stuff everything in 1 carry, make my life so much easer it does. One feature that I find most amazing is its 3 pocket somehow seem to be independent from each other, which mean if two of them are fully stocked, you can still retrieve and restock the other one easily, they don't overlap. A word of caution: my 15.1" Laptop is really pushing it, when they say 14-15" , they really design to the inches, so if you got anything bigger than 15.1" you might want to reconsider. Tip: wait for a sell, and consider different colors, apparently different color has different prices. Mine was red and was 49.99 compared to 86.95 of the black.

Pros: Fairly light Padding feels like it protects my laptop adequately The mesh pockets attached to the laptop slot are perfectly sized for my Nexus 7 Has enough space for my computer, tablet, notebook, textbook, pens/pencils The handle on top feels sturdy Cons: -My biggest complaint is one that other reviewers have mentioned, which is that the stitches by the top of the shoulder straps where the gray/silver fabric is located basically fell apart. Not only does this look unattractive, but the threads snag on things, and there is a plastic strip that ends in a point that, while not sharp enough to cause harm, is still uncomfortable to be pricked by should I happen to grab the shoulder strap the carelessly. I've added a photo of the faulty seam on the strap to the customer photos for this bag. - The black strings on the bottom front seem to have a weak plastic or other such material inside, covered by a thin black fabric tube. Nothing wrong with that, but the core material seems to harden and become very brittle, and as a result, the string is sort of a mess of little fragments held together by that black fabric. It does not look nearly as neat as the product shot, and the string has stretched out, hanging out slightly below the bottom of the bag. - Not enough space to hold my camera. This isn't really a camera bag, so I'm not sure I can really fault it for this, but as a word of caution for occasional shutterbugs like me, there isn't a convenient pocket for cameras bigger than a compact. Mirrorless ILC's or DSLR's make for an uncomfortable fit. - Dan mentioned something below that I agree with, which is that the front pocket is sort of difficult to use. It doesn't really open wide enough to let you see what you're doing. Conclusion: I've had this bag since the fall of 2011, so about a year and a half now. There aren't any tears or anything quite so serious, but the damage that I have seen so far is much more than I would have liked to see. This was my first Swiss Gear backpack, and I'm not terribly impressed. While the features and materials quality seem fine (really, it's a fine backpack, no complaints about daily use), the stitching has proven itself unsatisfactory (I can't excuse something like the shoulder strap coming apart). I had hoped to wear this bag for all 4 years of college, but it's looking like I'll only get half of that time out of it. Update 10/28/13: Shortly before the beginning of the summer, the strap's stitching came undone almost completely, detaching the weight-bearing fabric from the bag. The only thing keeping the strap from coming off was the fabric covering each edge of the strap, and I would not trust that to hold/protect the contents of my bag. I replaced it with a used (but in great condition) $40 Kata DR-467i Digital Rucksack I found on eBay, and it's been great so far, for a little over half of what the Swissgear cost me. Updated rating: 2/5, because I can overlook cosmetic problems to an extent, but structural failure after only two years is not cool.

Sin duda fue una buena compra, tomando en cuenta la relación costo-beneficio ya que la calidad con que esta elaborada la mochila supera las expectativas, los compartimientos que incluye la mochila son diferentes y son muy variados bastante pensados seria la mejor descripción. No me arrepiento de haber echo la compra, la entrega solo demoro un dia. Sinceramente un producto bastante recomendable

Buying it 2nd time and its worth.

Un 10. La más cómoda, la mas protectora y, con diferencia, la más dura. Nailon a prueba de bomba y cremalleras para abrir y cerrar un millón de veces. Tres bolsillos. El principal es en el que va lo más gordo y el que lleva la mejor protección para un portatil o una tableta... El central, más estrecho que el principal, es donde van los lugares para los aparatos multimedia (es el que tiene el agujero para pasar el cable de los cascos). El delantero, el más pequeño. Muchos pequeños compartimentos para cosas más pequeñas.

Gran calidad del producto, viene con bolsas muy amplias y los cierres muy resistentes. Aparte que la comodidad al cargarla es de lo mejor.
