Perfect for my number loving 2 yr old! 🔢
This is the perfect puzzle for my 2 year old! He LOVES it. My little “mathematician in the making” is obsessed with identifying numbers, and loves pointing them out when I ask him to. He’s 24 months & not completely verbal yet, so I hope working with a visual like this will also help him develop the words quicker. The pictures underneath also help learn how to count. Compared to the large Melissa & Doug shape puzzle we have with big knobs, this is way less durable and not as sturdy. It’s much thinner and wouldn’t hold up to a teething baby. If your kiddo still chews on everything they see, this probably wouldn’t hold up long.... The only thing I wish was different is the coloring! The numbers are a different color than the picture underneath. My son is used to his other M&D puzzles that have matching colored puzzle pieces & pictures underneath. EX: He picks up the BLUE 9, and gets confused because the nine flowers underneath are RED. If they coordinated the colors & pictures, it would have been more congruent with our other puzzles. This makes it more challenging, so maybe that’s the point! Another issue: While I’m glad this puzzle includes 0, my son gets frustrated because he’s used to counting to 10..... Overall, it’s awesome & would make a great 2nd birthday gift! I also ordered the 3-piece set on accident, which is a better deal! It includes this puzzle, ABC’s, & colored fish for about $13-14. That’s basically one free puzzle. I recommend getting the larger set instead! Hope this helps! 🧩

Great product; could even buy you time for a shower!
This is a great toy/tool for learning coordination and also numbers! My daughter loves it! I got it for her at 16-18 months and she didn’t show too much interest but she just turned 2 and now she can’t get enough of her “bumbers?” and that’s great for her visually (she learned to count to 10 but would ALWAYS skip the number 7 so I thought seeing and touching the number would help her remember it- and I was right!) but it’s also great for me because playing with her “bumbers” will usually give me just enough time to shower and get dressed or cook dinner or whatever it is I need to do. As you already know if you have Melissa & Doug toys- they are a brand you KNOW YOU CAN TRUST! The toys are safe, colorful, durable, thoughtful, educational and fun. This is a purchase you can feel confident about.

Sturdy number puzzle!
This puzzle has helped our 19 month old on how to count to 10. The numbers themselves are good sturdy thickness, and as you can see the number seven has been chewed on a little bit and has not been damaged. The little white pegs on each of the numbers help develop fine motor skills and reach them to use their pincher grip between your thumb and their index finger to pick up the numbers. Great sturdy puzzle for learning! Love Melissa and Doug! Recommend and would buy again. Hope you found this helpful!

Colorful, durable AND educational!
I bought this for my great nephew - 18 months old who is already learning to count and learn his colors. I also got him a dino puzzle by Melissa & Doug. Both items are really great. They are very durable and colorful so he likes playing with them and putting the shapes back in their places. The number puzzle is fun because when you take the number out, there are pictures under each number for example - take out the three - there are three turtles (I may have the wrong animal but you get the gist!!). His 3 year old cousin that visits often also loves playing with them so they have a good age range.

Great - but I suggest the versions without pegs
This is a great puzzle - and the price is pretty much unbeatable. But honestly, I wish I had gone for the pricier one that doesn't have peg pieces...this is for a toddler who is now 2.5 - he can manage the peg pieces, but he would do much better with the pieces without the pegs (but since this has pegs he, in true toddler form, refuses to use it any other way). When using the pegs to try & put the pieces back they start to swivel since the motor skills are still getting strong enough to master something like that. Yes - it does have the added element of helping fine tune those motor skills - but we have tons of toys for that - this was meant more for him to focus on matching the numbers & whatnot (not getting frustrated because he can't do it all by himself). Also - these are not something you want to step on - those pegs can be brutal on bare feet (this is much more of a problem with the alphabet version of this board - the number pieces are much larger than the alphabet pieces so they're easier to notice). Overall - it's definitely a great value & it is exactly as it's shown to be. The quality could definitely be better - but for this price it's pretty much what you'd expect. But if you can afford the more expensive version of this that don't have peg pieces I strongly suggest going for that instead. Those also have overall better quality (my sons speech therapist has the version of this that's similar to the Alphabet Art one made by Melissa & Doug - except it's numbers - that one was noticeably better quality, but it was also twice the price).

Great Developmental Gift
As a parent I hate things that light up and make a bunch of noise for my kids, so I don't necessarily want to buy that for other people. This has been a gift I've bought for a number of kid birthday parties and finally bought for my own child. I know that it will be a very effective product for teaching my kids their numbers. At just over one years old she is already trying to figure out how to put things back together and I like that this is educational while doing that. Very affordable and very good quality.

Great quality
This is a wonderful puzzle. Every Melissa and Doug product is so well made and lasts a very long time. Something to know about this puzzle is that under the puzzle pieces there isn't the same picture, as many wooden puzzles have. For example- under the 2 there are two small circles, not another number 2. This can make this slightly hard for toddlers who are using their matching skills to complete the puzzle. However, this can be a good puzzle for learning and thinking skills for children with more advanced skills and thinking. My son wasn't able to complete it when we first received the puzzle. Not finding the match was confusing for him. But, now that he's 2 he is better equipped with the skills to complete it with ease.

Melissa & Doug See-Inside Numbers Peg
The baby started playing with this puzzle when she was 18-months old and it was an instant fun toy. She is able to learn her numbers and colors and is able to put the numbers in the slots as we count the number of items in the outline of the number: for example two turtles means the letter 2 goes there. It is all good fun and educational while the child learns many things!

very nice puzzle
This is a really good way to introduce numbers to your child as well as improve their memory. My one and half year old plays this game where we ask him to find objects and he picks up the number which hides the object. Like where is snake and he would pick up number 1 and so on. We also play this other game where he would another book which has numbers written and match it with numbers from this puzzle. Amazing starting puzzle set. Also because of the knob given it is easy for a toddler to hold.
