We needed this for my father. He had a stroke and lost all mobility on left side. His arm was beginning to develop o larger divid below his shoulder joint .. this kept his joints in place and it was more comfortable then the traditional sling

I hd a stroke 7 mos. sgo leaving mt Itleftmy left arm and leg with limited movement. i developed left shoulder sublexation and my O.T. suggested this sling might help.She nmeasured me to find out what size I neefdedWhen I first tried wearing it;Thethe cuff was too tightwas and it cut off the circulatation in my left arm and my whole hand went numb. It took 2visits to my O.T to figure out how to put this on correctly- a dvd would have been very helpful! The plastic piece uder my right arm was very uncomfottable with my tank top'on' it kept sticking to my skin.when i wore a tank top. The ends of pastic poke my arm. My O.T. found someone to sew extra velcro to the arm cuff which helped. She also had to add velcro to the chest strap which too short. Wearing this in the car, the straps kind of dig into my neck as doess the seat belt compounding my discomfort. After wearing it for a couple days I'm getting more used to it .It does asllow for affected arm movement wghile you are wearing this.i definitely loosen the chest strap when I sit for awhile. Guess it;s doing it's job of helping with the sublexation; the designer should have tried wearingthis for awhile before putting it up for sale.Maybe some mole skin for the plastic under my right arm will help. If you cannot move your left arm its extrmely hard to put on by yourself, Easy to take off. Ja, Buffalo,NY
