Definitely the best option for tuning down
If you have a band that tunes down for certain songs, you need this pedal. It’s a bit expensive for what it does considering how much $200 will buy you in guitar tech in general, but this is the best game in town.

Must Have for Guitarists!
I play a lot of covers and sing - this baby helps make that possible...we used to have to take our guitars and self detune...took time and a hassle...but now, switch from standard tuning to a half step or more...down ... and Boom.... done in a second!

For switching to Death Metal...
This is an amazing little addition to my collection...drops your tuning down up to an entire octave...great for switching to the darker tunes without changing guitars or tuning or strings (all the usual things associated with down tuning)...great product

A "must have" nowadays!! Works flawlessly if you use it correctly.
The most important thing about this pedal is knowing how to use it. If you use to correctly it sounds amazing through it's range, all the way to 7 steps down and the Octave. The key is to place the pedal out front, before your preamp tube, and NOT in the effects loop. Also, this pedal sounds best and "amazing" if you use your amps Tube powered dirty channel for your distortion/gain/overdrive sounds. I have to assume most of the complaints about this pedal are coming from those who use this in conjunction with a distortion/overdrive/fuzz pedal and a cheap amp. In which case, yes it begins to sound weak on "blah" past step 4. However, with your nice tube powered amp, it sounds perfect throughout the entire range. I like it even better then my tuned down guitars, because the string gauge and tension allows for more articulation and attack. Believe me, if you have a nice tube amp, no one will know the difference. If you don't have a decent tube amp yet, quit buying pedals until you can save your money and upgrade your rig. The amp is EVERYTHING.

No lag, works great for drop tuning and octave doubling
This pedal works perfectly for tuning down (e.g. E to Eb) with the push of a button. I have not noticed any lag or tone change when using this. I saw a professional touring musician use it, so I figured it was good enough for me! The octave doubling is interesting (adding a lower octave to the note you play), but only really sounds good played without distortion. So you get 1x octave multiply or drop tuning in one pedal. This pedal is not for open tunings, (e.g. drop D, open G), it drops the entire standard tuning by increments of a half step, full step, a third, etc. I play in standard tuning and have songs that are in Eb (like U2, Benatar) and it's perfect for switching to those without switching guitars. There is a "momentary" option for the button which will drop what you play down as well. Interesting for solos but it's an instant drop to the drop, not a dive pedal.
