Cut 50 holes from 2x3 and still going!
Cut almost 50 holes in pine wood and still going. Easy to eject the wood piece with a flat bar (I had a pair of scissors laying around, but a flat head screw driver would work better). It gets hot after a few holes so I let it cool for a minute after cutting 2 or 3 holes. Hasn't failed yet!I used a hand drill at first and took my time. I later switched to a drill press, still going slow, but it worked better and faster. Just let the saw do the work or you'll burn your wood (like I did a few times being impatient). It took about 1 minute to get through 1.5 inches of pine without burning, jerking, or splintering. Going faster resulted in varying degrees of the above ailments. The sticker will shred off, but the important information is engraved in the metal. The saw did grab my workpiece a few times. It's best to just scratch the wood with it first rather than plunging it in. Also, when getting to the end of the cut, go slower and with lighter pressure for a splinter free hole (using a sacrificial board, also). This saw will go through at least 1.5 inches (standard 2x4) in one pass.

The teeth last
I dont know about the center pilot guide but be prepared to replace those. As for the teeth on this thing i cant be happier. Im notching multiple pieces of 1.5" DOM .120 wall and it makes nice work of it when using some tap oil too

Lifesaver
Work in telcoms. This little guy makes my life so much easier its not even funny. Metal, wood, fiberglass, plastic. There is nothing this little guy can't go through. My heart skips a beat when i can't find it.

Works fine
Works great. Used it about 20 times so far in 2x, 1.25x, and 1x lumber. If you are getting bad tearout, drill down until you can see the but just starting to come out the other side. Then drill from the other side in that pilot hole. The other key is to go slow and have patience. I used a DeWalt cordless drill and it worked without issues.

Cuts well
It did the job to cut through my frame on my Toyota during my SAS project. Cut 2 clean holes for the shackle tubes. It was 3/16 frame with reinforcing in the middle so not the easiest job for it. Take it slow and it will last.

Good design for removing center core
Much better design & price than available in stores

correct usage is important to tool life
For people who claim it failed the first use, I'm almost certain they didn't use plenty of cutting fluid with metal stock and/or pressed down on the drill bit when in use instead of letting the tool do the work in metal or wood stock.Worked perfectly to cut 4 holes in a 1.5mm thick steel plate and is still in great shape.

Maybe good, but verify your need…
Done a lots and lots of electrical and plumbing in my house and I like to make clean hole. 1 1/2 (38mm) isn’t good for me. This thing is useless since the 1 1/2 inch ABS is way bigger even in is inside diameter. Should have check size before ordering, 1 1/2 ABS is 50mm OD and 40mm ID.
