SX Jazz Bass short scale 30"
SX Jazz Bass short scale 30" scale length. These fit and sound good. The string lengths are just long on 3 of the strings and one string was just right without clipping. The stock SX bass bridge has small holes for the strings so the guitar ball ends work just fine. Replacement bridges may not work due to larger string holes. The tension is good for a light set. For someone with Ulnar issues that makes them very playable. For the folks who will complain about the reduction in low bass thump it's there just boost the bass on the amp / preamp. The note definition on the low E is excellent and provides good intonation all the way up the neck. The strings are high quality and have that nickel wound sound in abundance. These strings are being used on a 4 string bass since Ernie Ball does not make a 40 ish to 90 short scale set. In fact that would be Rotosound if you like the sound of their strings. I have used these on Danelectro Bass VI (baritone) guitars and that is how I know about these strings and why I had a spare set lying around. The other 4 string basses Squier and Fender I have owned needed the Bass sized ball ends to prevent the strings from pulling through the bridge. Same issue on the Squier Mini Precision.

Updated review to correct mistakes made by me
Update: As said previously by myself and others, these are for v-short scale 6 string basses. However, when using them to re-string my vintage short scale Jedson 4 string bass I made a mistake. I had assumed these strings were for a barritone guitar and were for guitar tuning EADGBE and so I used the bottom 4 strings. In fact these are for v-short scale basses and are for tuning BEADGC. So to rectify my tuning problems with what I thought was my E string I will get another set of these and instead use strings 2 to 5 i.e EADG. These packages are mislabeled by EB but so long as you know they are guitar scale with small ball-ends then they are perfect for the job they are intended for. They will not fit your full scale 6-string bass as they are actually a set of heavy strings for a barritone guitar. I actually used these on a 1973, 3/4 scale Jedson Telebass. I used the bottom 4 strings (E, A, D & G) and they fit really well. So if you want to re-string a very short scale bass such as the Ibanez Mikro then these are fine. But really these are for barritone players.
