Fun set that my 5 year was excited to receive. He is forever asking for paper to draw on. He was a fair amount of markers, an outdoor easel, etc. But this is a nice compact set for keeping in his small bedroom. The tools are just right for a 5+ year old. I wouldn’t recommend them for a younger child as they are quite compact/travel size. The drawers operate with some sticking but my 5 year old had no problem opening and closing them. He was able to draw using the colored pencils and other tools. The chalkboard was fun as well, just be prepared for the chalk dust. My son was unable to clip a sheet of paper onto the easel on his own, and the sheet kept slipping off of the clips but it was a minor annoyance as he just stabilized the sheet against the white board. One last thing I’d like to point out is that the whiteboard/chalkboard eraser is really scratchy/low quality. I’d look into replacing it with a smoother eraser. We will do so eventually. My son didn’t complain, but I know the eraser will be the first thing to wear out. Overall, I still give this item 5 stars for the value and amount of items you get. I’m also a big fan of the way all of the items store in the case. I also like that the unit uses standard size 8.5x11 paper. Other items I was shopping used odd sized paper.

My kid loved it. Excellent for plane or car trips.

First things first: I did buy this primarily for plane travel but think it will be too big for our carry-on. Watch the video for a good representation of the size. That said, we have it brought it out with us and my daughter really enjoys using it. I bought this for my nearly 17 month old. She's too young for the colored pencils and markers, but the Faber Castell beeswax crayons that come with this are some of the best on the market, and she really enjoys making lines with the chalk. The case is made of a relatively sturdy plastic. The drawers on the sides are a great touch and very deep for storing a wide assortment of art supplies. The chalkboard works wonderfully, none of that annoying plastic-y chalkboard thing where the chalk won't write on it. It's almost as good as a slate tablet. It also has a little ridge built underneath for holding chalk while in use. My daughter is fascinated by the dry erase marker and loves to pick the entire case up by the handle and drag it around the house. It is definitely one of if not the best plastic portable easels on the market, and the addition of Faber Castell art supplies puts it in a class of its own. My only issues are the size, the small amount of crayons (8-10 would have been nicer), and the case does not actually fit the drawing pad. I've also found that I have to stick the entire pad under the clips, otherwise the paper is too thin and slides out. All that said, i still recommend it above any other.

We gave this to our kids’ friend for her 6th birthday, and our daughter asked for one for her 9th birthday. We gave one to a 5 year old girl the other day again and her 8 year old brother wanted one for his birthday too! It seems like a hit with both boys and girls and it is perfect to take to a camping trip. Our kids always fight over stuff but since kids can draw on both sides, they have so much fun drawing together. And I am a big fan of Faber-Castell art stuff for its quality and colors. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a gift for kids!

Bought for my grandson and he loves it! Very sturdy and well made. The art supplies are very nice as well. Definitely worth the money and would purchase again for a gift.

Far too large and clunky - ended up returning the item. Bought it to take on a flight for the kids, but it wouldn’t even fit in their carry on.

I purchased this for my three year old grandson and he was DELIGHTED with it- as was I! I’m an artist by profession and wanted to introduce him to the joy of creating. This was great and up to the job.
