Super easy to install went on in about ten minutes

It works, but some of the worst directions I’ve ever seen. It took me 20-30 min to figure out and I’m a mechanic

Instructions were not completely clear

Shock or strut to help prevent tail gate from dropping down with force.Install instructions were slightly more complicated than necessary, however it's simple and straightforward to install the item, all is needed is a 10 mm wrench which isn't provided, and an allen screw if wanting to speed past the install, otherwise allen key is provided.

Installed in no time at all. Did not put on cable protector, but it works great. Should have done this a long time ago... and this specific product is well built and should last a long time.

Good quality and easy install

With in 9 months the clip broke that hold the cylinder on the ball and can’t seem to find any replacement past …. Something to think about

Easy Install, look on youtube for videos. The instructions are pretty vague, but there are so many installation videos out there to help. Make sure you have it where you want before you click the shock in place cause I wasn't able to figure out how to unclip the shock after without breaking it. Nice that the trunk doesn't slam anymore! UPDATE - Lasted 1 year and 3 months, then the bottom broke where it attaches to the truck. I would buy again just to prevent the tailgate from slaming down when you open!!

Received the kit. Shipping, packaging was good. Price was good.. I was able to install the kit per the provided instructions.. Unfortunately, the very last piece to install is the shock itself and where my problem is. The clip that is to hold the shock to the newly installed grommets was defective on one side. Would constantly fall off.. When I tried the door, it worked the first time, then when closed it would fall of.. Try and open the tailgate a second time and.. Surprise, no shock! Nearly ripped my arm off.. Could just be a one off.. Was my experience. Going to order from another supplier as these are great! Per the picture, you can see the clip doesn't cover the hole at all.. And it should on both sides..
