My Favorite
This is my 2nd one, the 1st was a 3 cell with the button at the back which isn't my favorite design. However the design and quality being the same +/-, it went through the commercial washer 3 times (and always being taken apart) before being rendered in-op on the 4th time (I always forgot to check the side pockets of carpenter pants before wash). Also it has 1 function.... on... none of that SOS BS, or having to cycle through 5-6 different modes like some disco bar, made for a 5 year old just to get to that flashlight thing going... this light is surprisingly bright, has the on-off button where I like it, works well with recharge batteries, and surprise...lasts a long time between charges...Yes I will buy another one , and also I now have a note reminding me not to wash it.

There is no zoom
If the head is fully tightened, the beam is somewhat like a standard flashlight. The spot beam is a little wider than average, with a bit of peripheral light around it. This might very well be what you want.If you loosen it 2 turns, the spot beam becomes slightly less consistent, with a small square shape appearing in the middle and the rest of the spot beam looking slightly dimmer and barely any wider at all. The peripheral light doesn't change much.If you turn it further than two rotations, the head falls off. That's it. It ranges from an OK spot beam to a sloppy spot beam and that's your only options. Most "zoom" type flashlights are the other way, with the tight beam being the worst and the wide setting being the best. This could be a benefit if you want a brighter spot beam and a weaker flood beam than a reflector setup provides, but don't get this expecting the promised adjustable focus.

Greatest flashlight to shine the brightest.
Best light to see in dark areas. I use this for work as a machinist to see in very dark areas. I have them in my family's cars in case stranded at night, they can be seen. They are pricey, but there's a good reason for that. With my grease hands, I often drop them into the pit & I repurchase another right away. So worth it!!! I buy them often, you should too!

Great light for those who need it.
This is a great light! But it's an expensive light and overkill for most people. If you need a BRIGHT, rugged light that's small in size and weight, this is perfect. If you need a bright light and aren't going to be doing anything really tough or hauling it for long distances, save your money. You can get a good light MUCH cheaper.I work in international disaster response and every ounce counts. Plus my light needs to stand up to the elements and hard use. This is a great light for that. Also, the zoom feature is almost non-existent. Don't expect Mag-lite-like zooming from this light.

POS light. One dive trip is all it lasted ...
POS light. One dive trip is all it lasted. One. Water leakage. Completely inferior plastic on plastic threads, and only 4--5 threads at that. It's bound to leak. I was replacing a cheaper, brighter light by Dorcy that survived 150 dives, That light had about 10 metal threads protecting the inner chamber of batteries/bulb. Avoid this light.
