Fotga NP-F970 Battery Buckling Board to LP-E6 Dummy Battery Adapter Mount Plate for Canon 5D2 5D3 5D4 6D 6D2 7D 7D2 60D 70D 80D and Sony NP-F970 F960 F770 F750 F570 F550 Battery

So far the Fotga LP _E6 dummy battery and adapter plate for my Canon 5d4 is working as discribed. I’m using a NP F970 high capacity 8800 mAh battery. Fully charged I and get about 6 - 7 hours record time using the 5d4 HDMI port connected to a Ninja Blade video recorder. Plenty of juice for any of the gigs I do using a tripod. Product seems well made the the adapter plate is made of aluminium and NP F batteries fit snuggly with a good connection. The dummy battery is made of plastic and fits perfectly into the 5d4’s battery bay making good connection to the camera. Now I have no need to interrupt my work flow just to change out camera batteries. Lots of juice!

The product is advertised as and NP-F970 to LP-E6 adaptor, except that it's not quite true.If you look at the photo I took of the adapter and an actual Canon LP-E6 battery, you'll see that one of the two larger contacts is not is the right place. I believe these contacts are for battery charge info, so I could live with that issue. But the contact on the adapter which doesn't match that on the battery, actually blocks a grove cut into the battery, which in effect makes the adapter physically unable to fit some devices. (Having said that, the adapter does fit the 5D MkIII because the camera does not have a "fin" which needs to slide into the grove I mentioned above.Bottom line, this adapter is NOT an LP-E6 replacement, so beware if you are buying it for other equipment which requires real LP-E6 batteries.Having said all that, the build quality is actually quite good, and I would have given it 5 stars if the LP adapter end was as advertised.
