How do you attach these pedals to the bike? It doesn't have the traditional spot to attach a pedal wrench to.

Hand tighten the pedal, then insert an 8mm allen wrench into the other side of the crank and tighten (torque=35-55 Nm)

Is this set or just one? A bit confused why it says 'Pedal' and not 'Pedals

I received a pair of pedals. Very happy with them!

How many 1mm washers can I safely use with these before I should just buy the Ultegra +4mm pedals?

Check on Shimano’s web site. They can give you a definitive answer.

Are the pedals for road bike or mountain bike riding?

Great pedals

I've ridden over 100 miles with these pedals and have had zero issues. They're my first pair of clip pedals, actually. They were easy to install as long as you remember that the threads are opposite of the typical "righty tighty, lefty loosy" - otherwise, you'll have a hard time.

Perfect

It's shimano :) Bought them to try if their are more performant than for mounting bikes, so their are indeed transfer power a bit better and also they are perfect for indoor pedaling since clits are plastic and do not damage your floor
