This device will extract the audio of the tv to you choice of 3.5 mm jack or optical cable
My monitor doesn't have any outputs, only hdmi and usb, luckily it has hdmi arc, so I used this device to extract the audio from hdmi arc to optical cable to external surround system ( speaker).
