The jar leaks

Cover thin and flimsy, leaks water and not tight no matter what you do

I bought this to store kombucha In, in my fridge and evertime I refilled it the lid leaks around tap so I've had to stand it up instead of laying down like it's supposed to. Rally dissatisfied with it think Kilner need to re design the seal and lid.

haben schon lange einen größeren Behälter für den Kühlschrank gesucht, um unseren homemade Eistee zu kühlen. Die 3l haben eine ideale Größe, er passt auch in kleine Kühlschränke und sieht gut aus. Über den Zapfhahn lässt sich jederzeit ein Glas füllen und er hält in geschlossenem Zustand auch wunderbar dich (jetzt schon seit 3 Monaten und nach unzähligem Wiederbefüllen).Hier liegt leider aber auch das kleine Manko, weshalb ich einen Stern abziehe: hätte der Zapfhahn einen größeren Auslass, so bräuchte der Kühlschrank nicht so lange offen stehen - ein Glas zu füllen dauert so etwa 20-30sek. Außerdem lässt sich das Gefäß nicht bis zum Boden durch den Zapfhahn leeren, sodass gegen Ende ein Kippen nötig wird bzw. man den Dispenser herausnehmen muss. Wir haben dennoch viel Freude damit und können ihn nur empfehlen.

The tap is like a kids toy quality plastic tap. Not sure why they couldn’t just charge an extra fiver and give you a steel tap. So far it’s working ok, yes it pours slightly slowly but you don’t have to wait that long. Just don’t let any clumsy kids use it because they will definitely snap the tap off.

I bought a seperate stainless stell tap made no real dofference the plastic tap and the stainless steel you need to tip the unite to get the remainng juice thats left inside one keep geing blocked up no good for fruit juices tap postion needs to be lower down

You can see from the opening photo the jar has a rubber stopper in the top to be removed to allow airflow through to enable a quick pour. The one Amazon send you does not have this, it’s a sealed glass jar. As a result, it pours incredibly slowly.That’s if you can get it that far. The lid itself is incredibly cheap metal, the next step up from tin foil. The tap is very cheap plastic, you have to hold it still with one hand as you turn the arm. Doing it one handed feels like it’d snap clean off. And the fact that the arm is forward when closed means it hits whatever you might have in the door shelf of your fridge.The lid has a separate rubber seal behind it, that’s nether wide enough to meet the entire edge to create a solid seal or is wide enough at the rim to maintain a solid seal. Because if this it’s incredibly difficult to get the lid on tight enough to stop it leaking. I’m a averaged sized man who works a physical job and struggle to get this lid tight enough. 6 attempts last time to secure it without leaking, thou the lid is so thin it bends in your hand.Shame because it’s a very nice jar. Ruined by a cheap lid and tap that isn’t water tight at all and will only get worse the more you use it.
