Metal Cat Litter Scoop with Deep Shovel

I can't believe I didn't get a metal scoop sooner. Trying to move around several pounds of litter in a box with a plastic scoop absolutely sucks, as I'm sure you have learned by now. This thing does a great job of being both much stronger and stiffer than plastic, while also preventing sticking since the whole thing essentially has a non-stick coating. This one purchase made cleaning the litter box SO MUCH easier. The mountable scoop holder is just the cherry on top and makes this an essential product if you have cats. Pays for itself in time saved and frustration avoided. Highly recommended!

I can't say enough good things about this scoop. This definitely falls into the category of a product I never knew I needed, until I had purchased it. In the past, every cat litter scoop I've used had been of the plastic variety, and had usually just been whatever accompanied the litter box I bought. These scoops were never terrible, but there was always something about them that seemed to make the process of cleaning the litter box longer than it needed to be. When I used this new scoop for the first time, I realized what I had been missing, and I would honestly never go back to any of the plastic scoops I've used before. These are the major advantages I noticed about this particular scoop: 1. A wide, deep shovel portion with a very narrow lip: this lets you scoop up a lot, even what's well below the litter's surface, quickly and efficiently. The width of the scoop is also a plus as it means fewer passes through the litter are necessary to get it clean. 2. Sufficiently narrow slats: with some of the plastic scoops I've used, the slats of the scoop were set too far apart, meaning small pieces would fall through and back in the litter box along with the litter. This scoop's slats are spaced close enough together that you really only seem to be separating the litter, so you're not trying to pick up the same stuff multiple times. 3. A sturdy, inflexible handle: This scoop can hold the weight of what you pick up, including very large, dense clumps created if you have more than one cat using the box. The handle does not bend, and you can still securely shake the scoop enough to separate the litter without having to worry about it buckling. Overall, this feels and works like a quality product, and I highly recommend it to anyone who might find themselves spending a little too long cleaning their litter boxes because of an inferior scoop. I would like to add that the wall mount included with this product seems to be of good quality as well, but I did not use it. It is backed with a peel-off adhesive, and seems very easy to set up should you also be looking to utilize the wall mount.

I admit, I was skeptical - how much different could a litter scoop be? It scoops litter. Why would it be worth upgrading? Well, one day my cheapie plastic scoop cracked and I found myself in the market for a new one. I came across this, and holy cow, look at those reviews - okay, that's interesting, I guess I'll try it, it's more than I want to spend on a litter scoop, but at least it looks like it won't break too easily, right? After a couple of months of use, I can tell you that the reviews are true, this is a fabulous scoop! I've had cats my whole life and I've been cleaning up litter for most of it, and this is the most thoughtfully designed litter scoop I've ever owned. It is wide, it is strong, it sifts, it digs in corners beautifully, it's got a nice, long, comfortable handle and it is pretty good at keeping the litter from sticking to it. (The company also thoughtfully provides tips on how to keep it even more non-stick.) You can tell that it will never crack under the weight of even the biggest of litter jobs, and it looks a lot nicer than the cheapie plastic shovels, too. The one tiny negative about this scoop is that, since it's made of metal, it's not light. If you only have have a little litter to sift through, it's no big deal. If you have a lot to manage and you're used to the lightweight plastic scoops, then your arm might be in for a bit of a workout by the end. I'm not taking a star away for this because it's the tradeoff for the scoop being so wonderfully solid and durable, but I do wish it were just a teensy bit lighter. (People with grip problems may want to stick to the plastic scoops, unfortunately.) Everything else about this scoop is absolutely superior and I too have joined the ranks of people wishing I'd gotten it a lot sooner. It is really worth it!

I have to admit I’m usually very cheap so when it came to spend over $10 on a poop scoop I was very hesitant and it tools me weeks to actually but it. But my cat kept peeing in the same spot every time she used the potty, resulting in my standard plastic kitty litter bending and having trouble getting the full clump of pee each time lol. So I finally bought this one as it was taking me 10 minutes to clean her box everyday. This scoop is awesome! Totally worth the money! I was worried about smelled pieces falling through but it actually picks up way more than my standard plastic one was. The handle is very comfortable and well made and the scoop is phenomenal; it holds so much litter at a time and I literally cleaned the full box in under 2 minutes. The wall holder has a sticky backing so it’s damage free hanging and surprisingly sturdy! Totally worth the money, wish I would’ve bought it sooner!

UPDATE 2025-05-30: I bought one of the lighter ones which do not says ~"strong handle". It felt nice in the hand but failed snapped in two at the end of the rubber portion of the handle. It lasted about one year. This should not be for a scoop this expensive. So, I have the heavier strong handled ones, one says "solid core handle" and they are almost 10 years old and going strong. Leaving the rating at 4 cause the sturdy ones are still great. The light ones worked for a short while pretty well. Sigh. I'm now down one scooper. YMMV. ORIGINAL: Pretty darn good, far far better than most, lives up to its claim of being made by people who really scoop boxes. I've been foster home for ~20 years and had cats for 30 and I do a lot of scooping. Only two now but one is kidney kitty so there is loads to scoop. Best part of this is the rounded corners for good old school cat boxes. Most of even the best have very square corners and make for huge mess digging out huge pees from kitty with failing kidneys who goes like a race horse. The vertical tines combined with large sides is nice too. Vertical slats alone without high sides is a fail despite high ratings. They also tend to get a lot stuck in them. The lip or front of the scooper also holds/sticks to wet clumpy litter like crazy. The rubber handle much better than my stainless steel ones which occasionally feel like if my hand slips I'm going to cut open a finger or two. This rubber handle rocks. It is extremely sturdy. The hanger ? I don't use but I could see hot it might be useful. I just leave mine on top of the cat box. Overall this is a good a scooper as I've bought in the last 10 years and there are clear leaders in this field. This one joins the pack. You can't go horribly wrong here but I am not quite sure it is 5 stars cause it just collects clumped litter and I have to clean it more often than other scoopers which are plastic or stainless. If I could give 4.5 I would.

Some will say a litter sifter is a litter sifter is a .... NOT TRUE. I recently had one break, plastic one, just as I was leaving town for a long weekend. It put me in a real bind. I needed a replacement so I bought one at Wally World. That one looked similar to this and was metal. But it had holes that were too small. I ordered this one because I was upset and wanted to prove their hype wrong and return it to Amazon with a nasty note. I really was mad. My thinking was all litter sifters are junk! WASTED ENERGY... This is the ultimate cat litter sifter. Let me say that again, This Is The Ultimate Cat Litter Sifter. The only down side is the coating is supposed to cause wet stuff to not stick. That is not true but the clumping litter is supposed to stick to itself and therefore EVERYTHING. This one, a quick brush off with the human toilet brush and PRESTO... CLEANO again. The metal is substantial. Remember, I tried to break this litter sifter and couldn't. I weight 270. I took it to my workbench in the garage and leaned on it hard. Wouldn't break. I guess had I put it in my vice and really went to town I could have broken it but that would have exceeded any normal use to the point of silliness. The handle is GREAT... other similar products have handles where the metal inside only comes an inch or two into the plastic. This one appears to have the metal most of the way to the end of the handle. The rubber/plastic part of the handle will NOT flex and is large enough to really grip. Sort of like the kitchen utensil for seniors. Shape of and curve of the handle is perfect. Holes in shovel are right for clumping litter. I don't use the wall holder but it is a neat idea. This is a good product. Not cheap but worth the money. If I can't break it... its a good one. We have two adult male (8 year old) domestic tabby cats and we use Tidy Cats clumping litter, so scooping is a daily must (sometimes twice a day). For almost 8 years before we bought this, we were using one of those big blue plastic scoops. We thought the blue plastic scoop was great because it was so wide that it made scooping our oversized box a quicker task. But recently the big blue scoop cracked during a "heavy" scooping session. Now, I know someone reading this is going to say "these people are a little crazy" , but we spent a long time surfing through all the different scoops on Amazon to find a replacement for the cracked "big blue" scoop, and we really had to debate whether or not a litter scoop could be worth $15. Well, it IS worth the $15 price at the time we bought it here. Why? Because even though it takes a little longer to scoop with this (since it's not as wide as the blue plastic ones you've probably seen) it is SO much easier to use. It's made of strong sturdy metal so no matter how much litter you have to dig through this thing cuts right through easily and gives you more leverage. MUCH easier on your hands since scooping with this is effortless compared to the plastic ones. The slots are just the right width / spacing - they're more narrow than the plastic scoops, so you have a more reliable scoop & far less "crumbles" left behind. (Basically no crumbles left behind). Hard (and kind of humorous) to believe a litter scoop is impressive enough to write a review about, but this thing has made the tedious chore of daily scooping in deep litter a whole lot easier. There's no force required (unlike the plastic scoops we've used) as the metal cuts right through the litter effortlessly, there's no wobbling or bending, no fear of it cracking during a "heavy lift", and the litter box stays MUCH cleaner since it doesn't leave behind anywhere near the crumbles that the plastic ones do. Special note for litter disposal bin owners - The slightly more narrow width turns out to be a bonus if you own something like the "Litter Champ" container - perfect fit right into the mouth of the bin! Solid 5-star product! Can't believe we spent 8 years dealing with the plastic ones, and it's obvious this is going to last a lifetime. Highly recommend!

bought 4, one for each location - we got a lot of cats. Best scooper I ever used. A bit oversize for my wife's hand, but guessing most people will love it. Drains good litter quick, stuff sticks less, easy to clean off - often just hitting it on the side of the box removes way more than old plastic scoopers that keep breaking. Last one I will have to buy ever.

Tried to use it with clumping litter but hard to clean. Outer rim is slightly wider than inner spokes so litters stuck .. went back to my plastic scoop which is moulded as a single piece.

I felt compelled to review this scoop as it is just so good! Has a solid weighty feel and appears to have been forged/welded as one continuous piece with a soft grip handle. The bowl is a generous 13L x 10W x 4D (cm) and makes short work of clearing unwanted poop and pee from a large litter tray. What I like best is that it catches small lumps (Catsan natural clumping litter) of ‘debris’ which pass right through inferior scoops, making the job quick and effective. This scoop is pricey but the Rolls Royce of scoops and will probably outlast me and several cats! I’m off to see what else iPrimio make.

By far the best litter scoop I've ever used. We have clumping litter, all the unsoiled litter just glides through the slots. The sides are nice and high so litter doesn't just spill over like it does with other scoops. Over time, the top edge does get a little gunky from scooping clumps off the bottom of the tray. It cleans off super easy though, we've only had to do it once since purchase.
