An ABSOLUTE steal, insane bokeh, great sharpness
First of all let me just say this: if you are on the fence about buying this lens, DONT THINK JUST BUY PLEASE YOU WONT REGRET IT!!! Especially at such a low price! it’s ridiculous how good this lil piece of glass is. Seriously. I shoot a whole variety of different kinds of things, mostly nature, animals, and sometimes people(and soon cars too). This lens is amazing for all three and more. I use it on my Sony Alpha A6100 and the photos I’ve been able to capture this past summer have been some of my favorite shots I’ve taken, since I got my first camera last fall. I have loads more shots on my Instagram: @ cloudformedia if you’re intrigued by the sample photos I’ve provided. I’ll now go a bit further and speak on sharpness, ease of focusing, build quality, etc. sharpness: wow, just, Wow. it’s honestly insane how sharp of shots you can manage to squeeze out of this lens. I normally use a Sony SEL 50mm f/1.8 for a lot of my work and this honestly holds up to that $250 lens a fair bit. It is however, soft in the corners, but that can actually work to your advantage in most cases(keep reading to find out why!) Bokeh: ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL AND UNIQUE Did the creators of this lens rip off of vintage powerhouses like the Helios 44??? If you’re at all familiar with vintage lenses, you’ll know about the unique bokeh and background blur effects you can get with lenses like the Russian Helios as previously mentioned. This lens, somehow, manages to replicate that sweet, sweet, swirly bokeh that you can usually only get with old glass. It’s absolutely beautiful. I don’t know how aperture blades work, or rlly anything as it pertains to the engineering behind that sort of thing, but man, this lens gives you some stunning bokeh for sure. TLDR It’s a banger of a portrait lens(especially at this focal length!) Ease of focusing: first of all, if you buy any manual focus lenses like this one, go into your camera settings and turn on focus peaking, and then thank me lager. I actually started out with manual focus lenses, and while it can take a bit getting used to, it’ll become relatively easy and quite fun in a short amount of time. I nail about 80% of the shots I’ve gotten with this lens. It’s very easy to focus in my experience. I usually dial the aperture down to around f/1.8 or f/2.0, but even at f/1.7 it’s still pretty dang sharp. Focusing itself is quite easy, this isn’t any sort of manual focus zoom. Basically, as long as you have focus peaking turned on, you should get the hang of it in no time. Not to mention how rewarding it can feel when you nail a killer shot, knowing you did so with your own hands! Build quality: now this is where, unfortunately, I have to delve into the small negatives of this lens. First of all, It does feel sturdy in the hands, has a nice weight to it, when you consider the size. However, I have experienced some jamming(?) when trying to change the focus, it sort of locks up and loosens a bit(if that makes sense lol). Though, it only seemed to do that for a small amount of time, strangely enough. These days however, it hasn’t done any of that sort of “jamming” much at all(I’ve had this lens for a year, however I just started using it again about a month ago). Then again, what more could you expect from a $28-35 lens for your $300-$1k+ mirrorless camera????? All in all, I think this lens is an absolute steal. You get a stylishly portable form factor which makes it great for traveling, some fantastic bokeh that looks especially beautiful in portraits, insane sharpness(all things considered, that is), and a very sleek looking piece of glass that’ll remind you of the lenses of yesteryear. Overall, this lens is an extremely worthwhile investment for any photographer imo, I recommend anyone looking to add a bit of flair to their photos, to try this lens. especially at this price point!

Excellent Budget Prime Lens with Great Bokeh and Low-Light Performance
Really is a no brainer. You need to buy this lens. UPDATE 2026 I purchased this Fotasy 35mm f/1.7 lens in 2020 and it’s still working perfectly. After years of use, there’s no fungus or internal issues, and the lens has held up well physically. For the price, the image quality is impressive, especially in low-light situations. The wide f/1.6 aperture gives you really nice background blur and helps a lot when shooting indoors or at night. It’s a fully manual lens, so there’s no autofocus, but once you get used to it, focusing is smooth and accurate. This actually helped me slow down and be more intentional with my shots. It’s a great option for learning photography or for anyone who wants a solid prime lens without spending a lot of money. Pros: • Great bokeh and nice depth of field • Performs very well in low light • Durable, still in good condition after years • No fungus or optical issues • Excellent value for the price Cons: • Manual focus only • No electronic communication with the camera • Not as sharp as high-end native lenses Conclusion: For the price, this Fotasy 35mm f/1.7 is a fantastic budget lens. It’s durable, works well in low light, and produces pleasing bokeh. If you’re okay with manual focus, it’s a great value and a fun lens to keep in your kit.

Good lens for the price
Excellent lens, great bokeh, good sharpness... But, the focus ring just seems off. The lens focuses at infinity while around the 2 m mark, so the actual focus range is quite limited. Not sure if I got a defective one, but the lens is great for its size, and large aperture. At the price its a must-have.

Great Manual Focus Lens For The Price..Buy it Now,,$30 fun lens to get creative with
Awesome lens for the price for the Sony NEX or A series Mirror less Camera.. A must have for anyone who wants low light performance with and decent quality for the price there are NO Cons to this lens.. Yes its Manual focus and takes some getting use to and Yes its not as Sharp as a $500 Sony equivalent lens but its less then $30 and takes good pictures "As Good AS the USER ability to manual Focus" It Fits My Sony a6000 good and fills solid I have no complaints at all.. My recommendation BUY IT.. WORD OF ADVICE.. To get the best focus out of this lens on my Sony A6000 it took some setting changes to make it easier to actually get a good focus on what i actually was trying to focus on.. (1.)go into Menu and Enable shutter release without lens (needed otherwise no picture taking) (2.)in the Menu go to Custom Key settings and assign "custom button 1" to Focus magnifier that way before you snap a picture you can press that C1 button right besides the shutter button to zoom and then focus then take your shot (3.)You may have to disable RAW shooting since the focus magnifier doesent seem to work if you are taking RAW file pictures (4.)Remember that this lens is a center focus lens So be sure to get the subject or object you want clearly focused directly in the middle of the picture otherwise as it will likely be out of focus even if its the same distance as the subject or object especially at lower F-stops Hope this Helps..

This is my favorite go to lens for having fun
This is my favorite go to lens for having fun. I use with a Sony NEX-6. The lens is NOT a professional, studio grade lens, nor an all purpose that can be used in any setting. It is a very nice, fun, alternative lens to use for pictures that can be extremely awesome when you take your time with it. At full aperture you get some lovely blurring with a very sharp focus point and center. Backing off the aperture a little can yield relatively well focused and sharp images, and with nice lighting the images rarely need editing out of the camera (at least for me). I do a lot of personal photography projects, work with small businesses, and create low budget video shorts with this lens because of the unique look and good clarity. It is all manual, so get comfortable focusing. The Sony offers a wonderful feature called focus peaking which essentially highlights the areas that are in focus for you, helping avoid guesswork. Can be used without a tripod as long as there is reasonable lighting, and continues to excel in low light conditions. This would be a nice cheap alternative to spending significantly more on a lens with good lowlight capabilities, but cannot take the place of lenses with better edge to edge sharpness and a large aperture. For that, find a cheap used canon/nikon and an adapter for the E-Mount. Or shell out for a new one, and an autofocus adapter for Sony.

Terrible lens, no value.
I bought this lens a couple years ago and played with it on the manual mode for fun. Recently, I took the lens on a a6000 camera to shoot some pictures in a park. I found the photo are terrible. Even at 1/16, you cannot get a clear picture. You could make it clear at the center, but all corners are blurred like hell. I could not find any value or use case for this lens, just threw it into the garbage can.

Amazing Lens for the price, but why glue the adapter on?!
The first one I got was broken. Returned it and got a new one after a week which... that's life I guess. The new lens works great. No complaints really. The only thing is that the adapter has been glued onto the lens so I can't use the adapter for any other c-mount lenses. Why the frick would they glue it to the lens?! The only reason I can think is to sell more adapters. Some guys like to have an adapter for each lens anyway (and I probably would have done that eventually too) but getting three lenses in the mail and one adapter would have worked fine for a while.... if the adapter came off the flipping lens!!! Also, I'm pretty sure the first lens was broken because whoever is affixing these adapters to the lenses is doing it manually and I think it's very easy to break the focus ring off doing that.

Fits Sony a6000
I have a Sony A6000 emount , it fit perfectly, it's so small and compact, I was so surprised how sturdy and lightweight the lens was ! As soon as I turned the camera on it had the sharpest focus , the performance was spot on, snapped photos very quickly , recording was just phenomenal, I'm very impressed, for the price is just insane !

For the price it's an amazing lens, produces some really dreamy and swirly bokeh
For the price it's an amazing lens , produces some really dreamy and swirly bokeh. The focus plane is not flat . The pictures gets blurry on the corners at lower F stops . But does the job ✌ For more pictures from this lens checkout my Instagram page @ecstaticcontrast . Happy Clicking 😊

Cheap fun!
Very fun to play and bend light with. Comes with 2 x lens cover (didn't expect that for the price)

Worth it
Excellent item. You can take really good photos with it. I was expecting it to be plastic, however, it's metal, heavier than expected. It came with a small bag and some extra covers for the lenses and frame. For the price, it an excellent item.

Amazing lens for an amazing price!
This is a great little lens, it has a style that regular lenses like the nifty fifty by Canon and the 50mm by Sony cannot replicate, the Bokeh is buttery smooth and low light performance is fantastic with the 1.7 aperture. As great as this lens is there are some things you need to be aware of, image is very soft around the edges at 1.7 so unless you're doing products or you're going for that dream state style I would suggest shooting at 2.0-2.5, this is not meant to be a lens for the Sony mirror less system so you may find some vignetting but this can be fixed by cropping in a bit. Overall I have to say this is a fantastic product and for anyone looking for a low cost lens that has a unique style I would highly recommend this one.
