Wood Combat Toy

I bought two of these for my husband for Christmas for our annual team building holiday fun. Two days later they were still under the tree so I went ahead and built mine. Last year we did a music box cello with moving bow that took both of us maybe ten hours together (20 man-hours) to complete. This kit didn't have the helpful spacers that you could build, but it was far more basic and easy. It took me maybe 3 hours to build mine and I'm guessing we can build his together in an hour. The instructions were comprehensive, the parts were sturdy, and some of the mechanism/targets come in both buildable wooden and plastic. There are a ton of rubber bands. It functions as expected when done. The size is great and fits into the hand well. The burnishing and embellishments are nice. There's even an orange tip you can add, and even though you don't need the magazine, it comes out and has a secret compartment in it 😊 Very cool!

It was a very short and easy build but still fun and worth the price. The design is really nice like all other Rokr products. I don't understand the reviews at all where people mention having to hold together with glue or tape or something. Sounds like they put it together incorrectly. Looks like they improved the design and they now include plastic parts so that the internal moving parts will last much longer than if you build the entire thing from wood (they still include the wooden internal parts though if you still want that). The only issue is that the parts are a VERY tight fit and you need to carefully assemble or you will break something. I ended up using a piece of scrap wood in order to push the parts in place because of how much force it takes. I think you need to be older than 14 to put this together by yourself just due to the strength that is needed. Also be very careful when pushing the wooden parts out and don't force if they aren't coming out cleanly. Try pushing from the other side. I was being very careful and I've put some of these type things together already but I still had a couple of the small interconnects break on me. Thankfully they included extras. The gun works great when assembled. The only weird thing is that once I put on the rubber bands and cock the gun, the first trigger pull doesn't shoot. The next 6 work just fine but it always shoots a blank for the first shot. It might be user error though (I'm only an engineer!).

I bought this for my son. He really likes it. He is the builder type. I says it's for adults, but my 12 year old is building it fine. It takes a liitle strenght to push the pieces together which may be why it is for adults, but he is managing to do it. I have not helped him. It's great for the child who likes to build!

Like all ROKO kits very nice assembly pretty logical but you have to pay attention. Good is that the parts are tight when you get them on, pieces will not fall off as you are putting it together. Bad is that most of the parts are too tight. You have to sand, file, and wax about 80 percent of the pieces. So you need round needle files, small flat files, sandpaper which comes with kit, and wax also comes with. All the holes you need to enlarge, and corners you need 45. use the most needle files to enlarge the round holes. Wax everything. I personally do not put the springs in as so small sometimes they fly uout when you try to install and I don’t want my dog to find one and eat one.

This is a great idea. You have to have the patience because there is a lot of pieces but once you put it all together and our mechanically somewhat inclined to do crafts like this it definitely works. It’s a lot of fun. Instructions are a little on the weak side, but if you have natural ability to put things together and solve puzzles and doing something like this should not be that difficult it is very fragile but once it’s all put together included, it is more sturdy

This is really awesome! Perfect gift for man or boy. Quality is outstanding and it's strong and durable. Perfect size. Fun to assemble. Great price too. Highly recommend.
