Very good product at a good price.
Installed this Dual SSD mounting bay with a 500 GB and a 256 GB SSD in my desk side computer. Installation was very easy and took less then 10 minutes. Both drives were recognized in dual boot Windows 7 and Windows 10 environments. The drive power lights and activity lights are easy to see and are very useful. Drives are now removable using the included key and lock system and slide in and out with little effort. I am very happy with this new addition to my system.

Great design with user in mind
I have tried a Startech model.Though it is very well and solid built, the fan will run regardless whether there is harddisk inside. And the fan is very noisy. Together these just add in-tolerable noise to my already not so quiet system. Then I found this model from Vantec. It has an intelligent power that the power and fan that will only turn on when there is a harddisk inside which makes this unit very quiet when sitting in the chassis. To use the unit, just push the lock in to open the door and slide the harddisk in. The operation is buttery smooth. You should really consider this one if you want a solid and quiet unit.BTW, I only give it 4 stars because I think the knob to open the tray door should be made a little more solid or may be using a solid metal knob. Other than this, the unit is perfect.

Update, 10/19/14: Repeated fan noise, irregular operation
** EDIT, 10/19/14: I'm sorry to report that I have to drop my rating for the EZ-Swap4 down to one star. The fan in the replacement I was sent started to get noisy after a few weeks, and today Windows stalled while copying files to the drive I had in the dock. This was about an hour after the dock was in operation, and when I removed the drive, it was quite hot.To be certain that the stalling wasn't a problem with the drive itself, I moved it to an external e-sata dock. The drive was still fairly hot, but it worked perfectly, so the drive is clearly in good shape (it's also a lot cooler, due to a proper functioning of the self-cooled external dock).I'm not sure it's worth spending the money to send another unit back to the manufacturer, but at any rate, I cannot recommend the EZ-Swap4. **__________________________(previous review follows)I bought this bay a few months ago, and so far its performance has been excellent, keeping a 7200 RPM, 3tb hard drive at or below 95 degrees Fahrenheit. This is far better than the last dock I bought which had no fan and let the hard drive really cook. I also appreciate the full size of the dock, as opposed to a smaller unit with brackets to meet the side walls of the tower's drive bay. I was a little annoyed at the Molex power connector on a dock built for SATA drives, but an inexpensive adapter took care of that. One interesting bit of business is that in Windows 7 (64-bit Pro, if that matters), inserting a drive in this dock kicks up the systray icon for removing/ejecting a USB drive. I didn't expect this, but it's hardly a problem. Also, it should be noted that while the stats here at Amazon and on the box say it only supports SATA I/II, Vantec's website specifies support for SATA III, as well (same model name and number). It appears that the stats here were written before SATA became available or common. My only concern with this dock, and my reason for leaving off one star, is that within the past couple of weeks the fan has been very noisy at startup. This occurs whether the drive is in the dock when the computer is turned on or inserted in the dock after the computer is running. The fan quiets down to a very soft hum after about 20-30 minutes and runs regardless (the temperature would go way up without it) but the fact that this noise is recent is troubling. I'm past the return period for Amazon, so I'm contacting the company to ask about it.EDIT: I'm a little late getting back to this, but I sent the unit back for a replacement and they sent it out promptly. The new unit was virtually silent at first, but I'm noticing some fan noise again. This will require continual monitoring, and I'll post back with any updates.

Non standard size, but it works
I purchased 1 for evaluation and after soaking it for a couple weeks I purchased 2 more. Operationally the disks work fine in the rack and were hot swappable in Dell Poweredge 1800 servers running Microsoft Windows Small Business Server Standard 2011 64Bit 1 Pack DSP OEI DVD 1-4CPU 5 Clt and an Adaptec 2255900-R SATA RAID Controller . As mentioned in another review the unit is slightly larger that the standard size and is an extremely tight fit in the PE1800. It fits in the top/right bay a little better than the one next to it. A small amount of DuPont(R) Teflon(TM) Chain-Saver Lubricant, Net Wt 11 oz. (CS0110101) made it slide in a little better. The Dupont spray works better than WD-40 11007 Multi-Use Product Spray with Smart Straw, 11 Oz. I had no problems mounting it in a Antec Three Hundred Gaming Case External 3 X 5.25; Internal 6 X 3.5 2*Usb2.0 or a Corsair Graphite Series 600T Mid-Tower Gaming Computer Case with Mesh Side Panel CC600TM If the rack is mounted vertically some disks do not mate well with the power/data connector. You have to make sure it is aligned correctly. I made a tool out of cardboard to wedge in the disk top (right side when vertical) to help with the alignment. The display panel is a good indication that a drive is inserted. The display does not light if there is no drive or if it is incorrectly inserted. If the rack is mounted horizontal, gravity does the job for you. The temperature, fan and disk activity indicators are nice. The eject handle seems a little fragile and might break if much force is applied. I find it strange that it uses a 4 pin Molex rather that an SATA power connector but in the case of the PE1800 it worked well because the power supply only has Molex. I did not need to use an adapter. On every other drive or tray I have seen the Molex yellow power lead is the closest to side to the unit. On this it is the opposite. There is a warning label to cautions to make sure it is connected correctly. Be careful. There is a plastic bag inside the tray that contains the keys and screws. 3 out of the 8 I have purchased had a hole in the bag allowing the screws to fall out. These screws were jammed inside the mechanism. It took a bit of shaking to get the screws out. Make sure you account for the 2 keys and 4 screws.I have purchased 9 and 1 was initially defective. The SATA connectors would not mate properly even when horizontal and the display was very dim. I returned it for a replacement. The 3 stars are because of the 1 DOA, size, loose parts and not working well when mounted vertically. I would give it 4 stars it I were mounting the 2 cases above.

Well Made
I have several of these in my PC's and had to buy a replacement because i broke the Sata connection to the unit when i took the cable off without releasing it first. I had purchased the original unit over 8 years ago and it worked fine all these years. The new one works just as well with my system - using Win 10 Pro.

Good quality bay
Really nice bay, unlike what I read and understood that it has one bay for 7mm and one for 9mm drives. Both bays are identical.
