Brenda,I hope this helps, when I purchased these gloves, I was also on IMAK site also and they had a measuring chart on their site. Their measuring is to measure across knuckles from baby finger to index finger the sizing is SMALL=3 1/8 MEDIUM =3 1/2 LARGE =4 -up. I hope this helps, I purchased a pair from both companies to see how they work.

Question 2

I knit so my right thumb and forefinger receive endless motion and are very painful, even when I am not knitting.  Would these help in this case?

Yes I think they would. I have sevier osteo-arthritis in my left thumb and it seems to relieve the pain there. Also have rheumatoid arthritis which the fingers feel better while wearing the gloves. Best part you can still knit while wearing these gloves. They don't hinder movement. Hope this helps.

Does it provide wrist support?

Greetings.The answer is "no" because, while the glove's length, when worn, extends beyond the wrist, the construction of sewn-in elastic support is concentrated mostly on the upper and forward parts of the wearer's hand. How is size determined?

I took a chance that one size fits all. When they first came in the mail they looked pretty small but they fit well.  I am a 5'2" person, wear an 8.5 shoe for women, and believe I have a medium women's glove size. I hope this helps.  I had a problem with overuse on my right hand from a semester at typing.  The doctor gave me two shots of cortizone over a period of a month and I wore these gloves.  It really seemed to help.  As I hope this answer helps you.
