CyberPower RB1290 UPS Replacement Battery Cartridge, Maintenance-Free, User Installable, 12V/9Ah

These replacement batteries do quite well in my CyberPower UPS units that I have spread all over the house (it might be cheaper in the long run to get a whole house UPS, but I never have that much unallocated funds available at one time). They have ridden my computer and other electronics through many midwestern storms, and since the feed from Indiana Michigan Power is inconsistent at best, these things tend to get a lot of exercise in my house. They are not the cheapest available on Amazon, but I'm afraid to try these off brands that are advertised at lowball prices. For the cost of replacing my computer or entertainment equipment, I'll pay a little extra and get what I know works.

Battery arrived well packaged and in good condition. Took 5 minutes to remove the old dead unit and put this new Cyberpower-branded battery in my 6 yr. old 1000 w. unit. Slid right in, power cables connected zippy-zap and sealed the case up. Plugged in and power on, battery already at 70$ and now charging up. Most painless install I've done in a long time. Hope this battery lasts as long as the old one.

After all the spotty reviews I was a bit hesitant to order this battery from Amazon, but decided to anyway and hoped for the best.I was pleasantly surprised that what I received seemed to be pretty recently manufactured in that the measured voltage right out of the box was ~12.8V.I'm not really sure how to read the date code (if there is any on the battery), but if I am reading it correctly, it seems to suggest that it was manufactured around 09/2023 and my purchase date is 04/2024, so roughly half a year, which is not bad at all.For those who are curious like me, the actual brand of the battery is a "Ritar" brand, and made in Vietnam. From a quick google search it seems to be a well known and trusted brand.Install is straight forward and seems to have gotten my old CyberPower UPS back up and running.

Bought this for an older model CP1000AVRLCD (I think 5 or 6 years old.. maybe more?).It had recently begun single tone beeping, and resets only temporarily restored functionality. I had noticed the stated battery runtime decrease over the years (normal; batteries are consumables).Found this battery and the cost is far less than a new AVR / UPS.Installation was super easy: unplug UPS from the mains, remove a couple screws to reveal the battery, battery slides out and there’s 2 spade connectors to remove. New battery slides in, connect cables to spade terminals, screw panel back on and done. Just need to charge battery per instructions before use.It’s now running strong again. Will update review if anything unexpected happens.For now, happy I went with an original Cyberpower battery as the cost difference for third party was not great enough to justify the “risk”.

Before buying this, I called Cyber Power tech support to verify that a bad battery was indeed the issue with our nearly decade old battery backup. The old battery wouldn't hold on our projector, or even a single 60wat light bulb for even a second anymore. But there was absolutely no indication that it was bad or even weak that I could tell. The support rep agreed that the battery being worn out was the most logical assumption, but said he couldn't say for sure without ruling it out first. He said they don't sell replacement batteries direct, at least not anymore. But he confirmed that this listing on amazon was a legit authorized replacement battery. In fact, he indicated that amazon was currently the only place to procure replacement batteries for their products.Obviously replacing the battery was much cheaper than buying a whole new unit. So we gave it a try, and luckily that seems to have resolved our problems. The power hasn't flicked off when running the DLP projector yet, but I pulled the plug with a lamp running three 60w incandescent bulbs, and the new battery carried the load fine, unlike before.I can't speak for product longevity, as we haven't had it very long yet. It's value is great, relative the cost of a new unit. Though prices on amazon fluctuate so wildly, it's hard to qualify that better either. As for installation, it's pretty easy to replace and came with instructions to do so for a surprising variety of different Cyber Power models. But be careful sliding the new battery in. The positive connector doesn't have the same protective shield that the original battery had. As such, it (both connectors for that matter) can easily bend backwards, if forced. When everything is aligned correctly, the battery will slide in with minimal effort, aside from that related to it's heft.

I ordered the alternate version of the replacement battery for my CP850 (it is typically recommended for the 1000) but notes said that it would fit our unit. It went right in and I had no problems. Charged on receipt and went right throughs elf test with no issues. Easy replacement.The only thing I made sure to do was pull the removal tab off the old battery so this one will be easy to pull out for replacement some day. It might be a bit of a chore to pull it from the unit without that tab.

It works. Packing was good. Delivery was good. My payment was good. All good. The instructions for replacing the battery for my model were accurate. What was lacking were suggestions on to deal with removing the clips on the old battery if they do not release easily. I asked AI and it suggested using needle noise plyers and a flat head screwdriver and cautioned me not to pull on the wires. It worked and I did no damage.

I have a love-hate relationship with my Cyberpower UPS. A few weeks ago, we had a power outage and everything shut off. I ran a diagnostic on the UPS with the software installed on my PC. Everything looked good. It said the battery power to run for 30-40 minutes. When I ran a self-test, it was clear something was wrong: everything lost power immediately.I reached out to Cyberpower. They didn't seem to get my problem. I understood that the battery was dead. I was frustrated that their product and software said the battery was fine. My concern was that if the device couldn't tell the battery was dead, was there a greater problem with the UPS than the battery?Their final answer: When the UPS has a successful self-test it uses that information to determine run-time, but as long as it's on power, it has no idea what's happening with the battery. Huh.... Kinda defeats the purpose of monitoring software, no?So I bought a new battery. It took about 2 minutes to replace. Once it was done charging, I ran a self-test and it passed, so it's holding a charge.At least now I know that the device has no idea regarding the condition of its own battery. It just sucks that the only way to know for sure is that the UPS has to fail.

I bought this battery for a Cyberpower CP1000AVRLCD unit. I had the same battery in it since 2015. It finally started to not charge and would get scary hot. So hopefully this battery will solve everything. So far, installation took literally 2 minutes and it seems to be charging nicely. Mine arrived at 4% charge instead of being full which was a little odd, but it seems to be charging fine. Sounds like I won't get 7 years out of this battery like the original one, but for the price hopefully this will last at least a few years.

My power back up for my computer was squealing every time we had a power blip, and would not reset. Realized the battery was old so bought this one and its like new again for a great price. Very easy to replace!
