Rubie's Child's Pilgrim Costume Dress, Medium

Pro:- Cheapest available that can arrive in 2-3 days.- The sewing quality is good for the dress, the bonnet, and the apron (I know because I sew): no unravel threads, all seams (esp on the sleeves where they meet the shoulder areas, the zipper areas) were stitched good- Bonnet and apron are very well made. The bonnet even has an elastic on the back.- Accurate sizing (my kid is 8yo, usually wears a 10 in regular clothes, and we bought the Medium size. She is tall for her age. This fits her good although I have to unzip a bit on the back because she was a bit choking from the collar).Cons - Only one- Itchy! My daughter almost did not want wear this. She tried this on before and after I washed the costume. The washing made the fabric only a bit less stiff, but it was still itchy because the fabric was rough.She finally gave in because she did not want to be the only kid without a costume for her World History Day. She wore a tanktop and a pair of long leggings underneath the costume).Will she wear this ever again (even for Halloween)? No because of the itchiness.

I read reviews about possibly receiving the Halloween version of this costume which is a poor substitute. I did NOT receive cheap Halloween Sensations version! Yay!What I did receive was excellent costume: 3 piece - gray dress, white apron and bonnet. No velcro, sturdy material, and a strong zipper up the back. The bonnet ties. In the picture apron looks weird not reaching length of dress. What I received is apron that extends completely to bottom of dress which is more authentic.SIZE: I ordered small for an above average tall, slender 5 1/2 year old, 85th percentile for height. It fits her perfectly, like it was made for her. As soon as it arrived she put it on and wore next to skin for 2 hours. No complaints about being itchy or anything. She adores costume, so do I.

I'm having a hard time keeping my daughters out of this until the event for which we purchased it! I bought this for my 9 year old (wears a size 10/12) to wear to an 1850s field trip. I know it's not the perfect time period, but it fits the bill, and kept me from scouring thrift stores or coming up with something on my own! It fits beautifully on my pudgy little mini-me. The zipper fits snug against her, but she hasn't said it's uncomfortable. It also fits my 11-year old (VERY small for her size), who wears a 10/12/14. They are the same height, but one is 60 pounds, and the other is nearly 70 pounds. I couldn't be happier with this costume, and look forward to the girls getting lots of wear out of it just playing dress-up with cousins and friends!

Very cute! Arrived in a traditional costume package. I bought this for my daughter who is thin and weighs around 70 pounds. The large fit loosely and was about 2/3 inches too long (she's about average height). I hemmed it with no problems, which gave me the opportunity to observe the fabric. It seems sturdy and substantial without being too weighty (this is not a light/airy fabric though). The sleeves are almost too long, but I'd rather that than too short as I'd like her to be able to wear it again. The only disappointment was that the color is gray. The blue would have been much cuter. She brought it to school and said everyone kept telling her how adorable she looked. Overall, happy with this purchase and felt it was a fair price for the costume quality.

This costume was a little more than I initially intended on spending ($25) but it had great reviews so I took my daughters measurements and went with the Medium. She is 9 and in a 10/12. Her height is a bit more over the measurements but this still fits her great. It is a thicker material (as in not cheap) Everything looks well made. She went from almost in tears for having to dress up to absolutely ecstatic when this arrived!

Love this costume! Only one thing to watch out for!!! The company sells this costume in two different packages, (same picture) probably coming from different factories. One that says " Deluxe Child Costumes" on top is the " good " quality with correct sizing and no defects. The other one says "Halloween Sensations" on top of the package. That one is a "problem" one. Sizing is way wrong, much smaller than they advertise, many defects and quality of apron is poor. I have ordered six of these costumes. Have received five good ones and one bad. Vendor was great and did exchange it for me. I actually did not have to return a defective one. Just watch out!

The size small fit my 5 year old great. I bought it for her school Thanksgiving performance. I used a steamer to steam out the wrinkles because it did arrive with lots of wrinkles and creases (but I expected that). The fabric is thick and is made of good quality. I had to return another pilgrim outfit I purchased because it was too long and was made of stretchy jersey material. I was very pleased with this purchase.

This far exceeded my expectations. It's made of nice material. Not cheap at all. My 8yr old normally wears an 8-10 and the Medium fit like it was tailor made. The poofy shoulders are a really nice touch abd the apron and bonnet made it adorable. She wore it in a parade and couldn't wait to wear it again on Thanksgiving.
