Maybelline The Falsies Instant Lash Lift Look Lengthening Volumising Mascara, Ultra black, 9.6 ml (Pack of 1)

I have never aspired to wearing false lashes, but I find that most mascaras lack in impact on my lashes. I have to then apply several layers just to get to a point where I am 'happy' with coverage.Not so with this product. I first saw an advert and thought perhaps this was worth a try. I reassured myself I would be able to apply such a thin layer that they wouldn't look ugly or gloopy following application, as I expected them to.Well, the effect has been transformative. This product gives great coverage to the lashes, even in one application, and although I use two, just to be sure they are noticeable, it is not gloopy, it doesn't clog, and it goes on very evenly. In fact, it puts other expensive brands to shame; they really under-perform in comparison, in my experience...and I had been disappointed by what was available for some years.I can't recommend this mascara highly enough. I do have to buy a new one every five to six weeks, as expected, but it also runs out in a reasonable way, rather than clogging up the brush. I also should point out that the brush is very effective and efficient, being one of the larger types, with a slight dip in the centre - the kind I have always preferred for good coverage and ease of application to ALL lashes, even the ones in the inner corners of the eye.The mascara is not expensive, it is very effective, and you can apply as many layers as you like without it doing anything other than enhancing your lashes. Added to which, it washes off quite easily with soap and water!Well done, Maybelline! I never thought you would outdo the high-end manufacturers, but you have...and I can't recommend this product highly enough.

Pros: it does lengthen and gets all your lashesCons: it dries up fast, crumbles through the day on your lashes and smudges around the eyes.I do have oily skin, but even when I've applied powder/ baked properly round the eyes it leaves black patches that are difficult to remove without ruining your makeup.Won't buy again

Lovely formula. I've never had a mascara with such a smooth, creamy formula. So far it's been great for my sensitive eyes, good with contact lenses. I haven't had any flakes or smudging so far. Even cried my eyes out while watching a film and didn't end up with panda eyes - bonus for a non-waterproof mascara. This mascara is really easy to take off with a good eye make-up remover at the end of the day. My favourite is the Simple Eye Make Up remover.I don't like the brush though - it's so big. It makes it very hard to put on without getting mascara on my eyelid. Also hard to do my shimmying technique. But I am getting more used to it the more I use it. I like that the formula is buildable. One coat looks very natural - lashes are lifted and curled and separated. Two or three coats and you get the false lash effect - which is great. My Mum even commented that when I was looking down it looked like I was wearing false lashes, in a good way! The lift doesn't last all day though, and I always use an eyelash curler. I do find that as the day progresses the lashes clump a little, which is such a shame. The formula is really lovely, and I can almost feel it doing my lashes some good. It's like putting on a really creamy lipbalm but for your lashes. I am going to try it with a non-fibre brush. I have been using the Rimmel 3D mascara, which has a much better brush and lasts really well and is half the price, but I was beginning to get annoyed with the shedding of flakes at the end of a long day if I rubbed my eyes.
