has anyone had issues with fraying on the tips after using these for awhile?

8 months in and the one I use most is frayed and junk. I've Reyes to wet and shape but it dries back to junk. They do paint with a nice snap but don't last too long.

Are these watercolor brushes? Do they compare well to the more expenseve brushes? Im looking for affordable good brushes to start waters

Yes! Excellent quality for watercolor. Can be pretty expensive individually so if you can get a set of a few sizes of round brush that's probably the best.

Great brushes for the price with a variety of usage. Holds paint well and sufficiently. Sufficient springiness and softness. Water retention is great. Enjoy them so I bought a second set for my vacation home. Highly recommend.

Over the years I have spent a small fortune on watercolour brushes. This was the first set. And they are still my favourites. I like the ‘snap’ they have to them. I find soft brushes hard to control and prefer these.
