Does this work with the track masters set

Yes it works with the newer fisher price track master sets . Some of the older fisher price tracks connect little different I believe they have a connector track to connect the different type of track master sets .

Can this be used on its own without any train sets?

Yes and no. My kids use it all the time without being hooked up. The base has tracks attached to it, ideally it would be used when connected to tracks.

Can I purchase the accessories separately (box train and similar)?

Hi, I know the set is so cute but I don't think you can purchase separately. I didn't try to but never saw anything available. Hope this helps some. Merry Christmas! :-)

Does this connect to the wooden tracks?

Yes, but it requires two connectors, I got them in the wooden cranky crane and the Thomas and Friends Super Cruiser but they are sold separately. https://smile.amazon.com/TrainLab-Trackmaster-2014-Current-Adapter-Thomas/dp/B07BLKPH3D/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=thomas+the+train+connectors&qid=1621574467&sr=8-3
