ATH-E50 Professional in-Ear Studio Monitor Headphones, Black

I’ve tried quite a few IEMs, including the Fiio FH1, Sennheiser IE 400 Pro and IE 600, the Shure SE215, and the Campfire Audio Satsuma. The Sennheisers were my favorite of these, but I’ve always had bad luck with them. The IE 400 broke, and I’ve had the audio stop working in the left ear channel of two pairs of IE 600 now, as amazing as those sound (this seems to be a common issue from what I’ve seen on reddit). I decided to try these out as a backup and possible replacement for my IE 600’s if they can’t be fixed or continue to have issues. While they don’t have the same level of realistic or natural sound reproduction of the IE 600, I’ve been incredibly impressed with the amount of detail coming out of these. They bring out a lot of vocal nuances, making them great for podcasts and other dialogue-centric content. The soundstage is solid and instrument separation is top-notch. The comfort is great and don’t feel like they’re coming out of my ears like a lot of other IEM’s, and that fit helps create a seal that’s incredible at blocking out outside noise. I think this a phenomenal value, especially if you’re looking for a detailed, analytical sound, or if you listen to a lot of podcasts or similar content. While I’m not an audio engineer, I could see these being excellent for mixing or production too. If my Sennheiser IE 600’s can’t be fixed, I’d be totally happy falling back to these.

Loving these things as my every day drivers. I work from home, and they're good for everything from meetings to listening to music. With my setup they sound absolutely superb. I plan on using these for traveling, so I also like that you can run the cable up your back and zipper the loose cable strands to your neck. So they're not dangling loose in front while I need to move my arms for dealing with luggage and the sort. I had some cheaper $30 IEMs before, so I did a lot of research on what to get before pulling the trigger on something in this price range. The difference is definitely notable. I had the spare money to spend to go in on the E50's, if you've got the ability and are a big audiophile then the E70's might be more your thing if you've got some good to drive your audio. Personally I'm driving these with a Topping E50 II and L50 II DAC stack. If money is a concern then you probably want to go for some E30's.

The clarity and leveled sounds are actually good to hear with these earbuds, happy for the purchase

Tienen un sonido muy bueno , balanceado pero son un poco incomodos. En lo personal las gomas que trae por defecto son un poco grandes para mi(sellan muy bien y el sonido es como a mí me gusta ,pero me lastiman después de 10 min) y las siguientes hacia abajo son muy pequeñas (son comodas y no me lastiman pero no sellan bien y los bajos se pierden casi por completo). En general tienen un sonido increíble para el precio, pero repito en mi persona, en mi tamaño de orejas ese es mi problema cómodos y mal sonido o increíble sonido y dolor de orejas (oreja no oído)

The flexible sections meant to wrap up and over the ears give me painful rashes and hives on any skin area they touch the following day. My ears are extremely inflamed and in pain, and I though it was because I had wrapped the cord too tightly up and over my ears. I then just had the cords dangle down along the sides of my face, and now I have rashes going down my temples. Just to continue experimenting, I wrapped the headphones around my left arm. The next day, my left arm had hives and itchiness. I repeated this on my right arm, and the next day, I got hives on my right arm. I do not know what on earth these are made out of, but I highly doubt it is simply silicon! Update (1 Week Later). This might as well be made out of fiberglass or anthrax. The swelling has almost fully subsided from my ears, however, there are painful itchy rashes radiating out from the patches of skin that came into contact with this section of the monitors. I cannot sleep at night, and am in constant pain and itchiness from this. I returned the item for a refund obviously, however, I greatly regret doing this. I should have incinerated the buds.

The ATH-E50's are a great set of earbuds if you need a wired set of earbuds for work reasons. The sound quality is crisp and clean, noise cancellation is almost too effective (works REALLY good). The wrap around the ear feature took some getting used to and was initially pretty uncomfortable, but with some experimentation becomes very easy to use and overall is quite comfortable.

bought these four years ago and i've had to replace the cables twice already. the sound is what i would expect from headphones about 40% cheaper. While i've enjoyed other products from Audio TEchnica I can't recommend these.

Good quality and sound.

I've been lucky to have grown up on the signature Audio-Technica sound after using ATH-CK10, ATH-IM02, ATH-M50 over the last decade. Their balanced armature earphones remain my favorite. Unfortunately, I lost my IM02 back in 2019 so I was waiting for the right time to buy a new model. When they released the E50/E70 I was surprised that they replaced their dual-armature models with a single BA in the E50. I had my doubts that the E50 sound could match the sound of CK10 and IM02. I was wrong. The E50, even with its single balanced armature driver, sounds much better throughout the frequency range compared with the CK10 and IM02. - both of which has 2 BA drivers. The E50 sounds more detailed, more lush, with better extension in the lower-end, significantly wider soundstage, and a little brighter without having any harshness in the top-end than anything else I've owned in the last 10 years. It beats both the CK10 and ATH-IM02 in my opinion. Unfortunately, the first earphones I received were broken, heavily used and with missing accessories and retail box. Not the best experience when buying 18K earphones online. Thankfully, customer support at Amazon was quick to order a replacement when I raised a complaint with pictures. I finally received a brand new piece (after 2 weeks total) in replacement so now I feel satisfied. Lesson: ALWAYS take a video of opening the delivery box/package when buying expensive electronic gear from Amazon as the customer support will always doubt your claims unless you show them a video or clear pictures of your faulty package. I'm very happy with the earphones and I plan on keeping them for a long time.

Everything is great, as expected. Shipping was ultra fast and earphones sound great. Few things to keep in mind: these have a 1.5 meter cable, which is longer than the standard for earphones and they are way more sensitive than other earbuds so that results in bigger volume ( I never listen on maximum on my phone).

That's some really good earphones (monitors) that deliver crisp sound and are really comfortable to wear once you find the right fitting tips. Sadly, recent circumstances require me to get up more often from my desk, so I'll have to sell them and go back to wireless earphones or try some bone conduction ones.
