Green Gobbler Drain Clog Dissolver, Drain Opener-Cleaner ,Toilet Clog Remover, 31 oz

We had a very slow draining kitchen sink, and we knew the clog was over 50 feet away (found out from previous plumber a little over 2 years ago). We've tried everything in the past (from pouring all sort of products in, to using a 25 feet snake with drill, myself) but nothing worked. On Wed, Oct 16, 2019, we called two plumber’s company and scheduled an appointment with them at the earliest availability (between me and them) to fix this problem. The earliest time was the following Wed, with the same plumber company that came fixed it the last time. Right after calling the plumber, on that same Wed, my wife saw this product here on Amazon, and figured we'll give it a try. We ordered two bottles right away (and good thing I ordered two, as you’ll find out why once you read on) and it came in the very next day (Thursday). That Thu night, I poured one entire bottle (both chambers – I purposely didn’t follow the “sink instructions” of poring one chamber, because I believed it might not have been strong enough, since I knew the clog to be over 50 feet away) of this "DISSOLVE Liquid Hair & Grease Clog Remover", aka. “Green Gobbler”, and let it sat overnight. I than pour two pots (about one and a half gallons) of boiled hot water (really hot… thought about adding salt to make it even hotter, but I did not as I wasn’t sure how salt would interact with this Green Gobbler) into the sink the following morning, and saw the water reaching the top of the sink, and was really discouraged. I thought Green Gobbler did not work at all. On Friday night, we wanted to write a message asking what we should do next, but because it was past 6PM, we knew the company had already been closed, and for the entire weekend as well. So that night, before heading to bed, I poured the entire second bottle (again, both chambers) into the drain, and let it sat overnight again. Saturday morning, I asked my wife to start boiling two pots of waters again, so I can pour it down the drain. But when I saw that the drain was totally clogged (none of the water had moved that night), I decided not to pour the boiled water in as I knew there was no way the hot water would reach that clog, and would only made matters worse. We were about to write to the company asking for a refund that night, but I didn’t get the chance to write it. We weren’t able to use the kitchen sink that entire day, but on Sunday morning the water suddenly started to drain away, and fairly fast too. It was still slow draining, but flowed much better than when we started. That Sunday evening, I wrote a message to the company (EcoClean Solutions) asking them for their expertise on what we should do next. After explaining the entire situation to them, I asked if we should buy two more bottle and cancel our plumber’s appointment, to give the sink a couple more treatments to see if it improves; or if we should just wait for the plumber to come this Wednesday to fix the problem. They replied to my message the very following day (Monday). I really expected them to be prideful, and very proud of their own product. I thought for sure that they would tell us to go ahead and buy two more bottles; but to my surprise, they were really humble and apologetic about it. They thanked me for trying their product, and was really appreciative with the details I provided them in my message. They then told me that their product, due to it being an eco-friendly drain cleaner, seems to work on about 85% of clogs, and suggested that I should keep my plumber’s appointment. Lastly, without me even asking for it, they went ahead and refunded us the order in full. They also gave me their number in case I need to reach out to them for any other questions. In their message, they also included the following, which I’ll copy and paste. “We're a small family owned business trying to make it in a corporate world and your comments mean the world to us, but they can also be quite damaging. Although the product may not have worked its best for you in this instance, I hope that our service and hassle free refund policies can hold some weight and in the end make a happy customer who may be willing to give us and our products another try for your next clog.” So without much thinking, I went ahead and bought 3 more bottles on Oct 22, and knowing that it wouldn’t arrive until Oct 24, I went and canceled the plumber’s appointment on the 25th. I knew that if this doesn’t work, I would not ask them for any refund again, but thought it was worth the risk. By the time it arrived, the kitchen sink’s drainage had improved even more. Due to that improvement, I went ahead and poured 1 chamber into the sink but forgot to pour any hot water in the following morning. Regardless, our sink seems to be clog free up to this day (Nov 1, 2019). Other Thoughts: I was just reading all of the negative reviews, and it seems they all had one thing in common, time, or lack of it. I don’t have the instructions with me right now, but I believe it stated that it is best to leave it in overnight before flushing with hot water. I might have gotten lucky, as I had this stuff in the drain for over 36 hours, before it started to break through those fats, oils, and grease (FOG) build-up near the end of the pipes (before reaching the main line outside our house) over 50 feet away. The only reason it was in there for that time period was because I had no other chose, since no plumbers were available, and I knew the hot water would not reach. Just to let you know, we’ve never deliberately poured oil, or threw anything greasy (like meat, fat, etc.) into the garbage disposal/drains before. We actually don’t use the garbage disposal much at all, and have a strainer right above the drains, which we empty often (1 to 3 times a day depending on usage). As the plumber pointed out, FOG build-up will happen over time, since we do our dishes just about every night. It took about 8 years for the FOG to build up the first time around (the house was bought new, and I saw them build it), than another 2 years to build up the second time. Two years ago, it took the plumber over an hour to snake it out, and even the plumber was surprised as to how deep the clog was located and it cost us a little over $300.00 plus tips back then in my area. I don’t know how much it would have cost now, but just the thought of spending another $300+ got me worried. But this Green Gobbler did the job, and I am a really happy customer.

I don't usually write a review, and in fact this is the first one I've ever written on amazon, but this product saved me from a lot of hassle. Recently, I moved into a new apartment after hearing some good things about the new renovations they were doing. However, after only a week of living there, I came across several things in my apartment that made my life more stressful than it needed to be. One of those things: a disgusting clog in my shower. I'm not sure what whoever it was who lived here before me did to that poor drain, but that was an abnormally disgusting clog. Everytime I finished taking a shower, when the ankle-deep pool of water would finally drain away, I would come back to find something gross and black staining the tub. I know for a fact it did not come from me. It looked like a bunch of dirt just caking parts of what should be my nice and pristine area for getting clean. Needless to say, it got disgusting enough to where I felt I needed to do something about it. I wasn't going to unclog it the old-fashioned way, of course. To start with, doing it by hand always makes me sick to my stomach. Also; I wasn't sure it was just going to be hair down there, not with all that muck leaking into my tub. I didn't want to find out what it was the person living there before me had in their drain. That's when I came across Green Gobbler on Amazon. I figured it didn't cost much and it was worth trying out after all the good reviews I saw. I even checked out the YouTube videos that showed in better depth just how well it worked with various types of clogs. I was impressed and convinced, so I bought it. Needless to say, after suffering with that disgusting muck in my tub and having to constantly clean it out every time I finished a shower, I was excited to try this out once it arrived. I followed the directions and poured the first half in, leaving it for half an hour. Then I rinsed it out with scalding hot water. I even went to the extra trouble of going to a sink and using the hot water from that to put in a pitcher that I could pour down the drain of the tub since the water in my shower would take a while to heat up. Much to my dismay, nothing changed. It only kept clogging and spouting gross stuff into my tub. That's when I went for the next suggestion: putting the second half in and leaving it there overnight. I was actually desperate enough to where I left it there for longer than just overnight. I kept it in for 15 hours. Practically two nights worth of sleep for me. Afterwards, I did the same thing. I grabbed a pitcher, filled it with steaming water from my sink, and dumped the pitcher of water right into the drain of my tub. Needless to say, given my five star review: it worked. I could tell right from the start as I drained the pitcher that the drain was having no trouble functioning, but just to be sure, I left the shower running for five minutes - which is how long it takes before the water is suddenly ankle-deep - and sure enough, not a single inch of water was left standing in the tub. Perhaps for those with bad reviews that said they left the solution in overnight the second time around with no change simply didn't keep it in as long as they should have? Regardless, I'm certainly not complaining. It took more than one try, but I would also like to think that clog wasn't a normal one. Thank you green gobbler! You made my life at this horrible apartment a little less miserable!

I used this for a sink drain clog and it did work to get rid of the clog almost instantly. I was impressed, especially because it is septic tank safe. I have a septic tank and there has been no issues since I have used the product. Therefore, I will use it again in the future for bad blockages and I have one on hand just in case of an emergency. I will note that, whatever was blocking the drain in the immediate area was removed. However, that "melted" or attacked clog must have moved just a little down the pipe. It still runs slower than normal. It is better than with the clog, but I think another application is necessary. I know that it is still the clog and not something else with the pipe because the sink in question (laundry room) is 10-12 feet to the left from my main drain leading directly to the septic pipe which leads out of the house. On the other side of the wall is a bathroom sink drain which is about 15 feet to the right of the main drain leading directly to the septic pipe. The main drain is in a small utility room between the sink in question and the bathroom sink drain. The sink in question still runs slow, and the bathroom sink which clogs right into the same pipe at the same spot is running as fast as can be. The sink in question runs slow though after a little while, as if there is a buildup before the main drain and the water going down the sink has to buildup in the pipe before I see it backing up in the sink. So perhaps I need to use this product again, or perhaps the product just melted or dissipated the clog and pushed it further down the pipe. I don't know. Therefore, my guess is I need to hit the drain again. This product is more expensive but it is septic safe. I don't know how many applications in a rapid period the septic tank can take, so I will need to wait a little before reapplication. Overall, it is a good product. I would probably buy it again. But I would not expect this to be a one and done miracle cure. In a jam, THIS WORKS. Long time, might need several applications which means $$$. If you have a septic tank, this might be your other option. If you do not, this might not be the option for you--use the more powerful stuff.

This worked GREAT on our bathroom sink, which has drained slowly for years. I didn't want to use regular drain cleaners as I heard they could damage the pipes, so every few months I would pour baking soda and vinegar in the sink, and it would drain better for a while. Finally that trick stopped working, so I searched YouTube for how to manually clean a sink drain. It seemed straightforward enough, since I was pretty sure our drain issue was a standard p-trap clog, but as you can imagine it never seemed like a great time to take the sink apart. So back to the internet I went, looking for alternative drain cleaners. I ended up buying two enzyme cleaners, Green Gobbler and SoFresh. SoFresh arrived first, so I used it as directed, three treatments out of the recommended five, before the Green Gobbler arrived. SoFresh definitely improved the situation and the sink was draining faster already. But I'd read great things about the Green Gobbler, so I poured half the bottle in the sink and waited 24 hours (it was only one treatment, so it seemed like nothing compared to the other cleaner). The instructions said to run hot water for five minutes afterwards, and I thought, well I won't be able to do that because the sink will fill up. And indeed, although the sink showed further improvement and drained even faster than before, it still filled up. So I ran hot water until it filled, let it drain, and ran hot water again. After three minutes of this, there was a glugging sound and the water suddenly rushed down the drain! The sink drains normally now, with water running down the drain as fast as it comes out of the tap, for the first time since we moved in! Now, to be fair, we didn't have a complete clog, just a slow drain. But it was an increasingly annoying slow drain, and I'm sure the sink would eventually have stopped draining at all. For the low cost of $20, a day without using the sink, and a few minutes of running water, this process could not have been easier or cheaper. I'm recommending Green Gobbler to everyone. (Also, since Amazon is asking me how it smells and how thick it is: it smells very neutral, like... nothing. The sink also smells neutral, as a sink should. The Green Gobbler is thicker than the SoFresh I tried, but the bottle says it's the density of the liquid that matters, not the thickness, because it sinks to the bottom of standing water to work at the source of the problem. So I wasn't judging it based on viscosity, just effectiveness. It was VERY effective.)

Wow! Wow, wow, wow!!! This stuff is amazing! I have MCS so I can't be around any sort of chemicals or fumes or even fragrances. That really limits the products I can use. We have a shower with a chronically slow drain that is worse than most because my hair is long enough to sit on. You can imagine how much of a mess that causes. No matter how diligently I clean the drain, the water rises to calf level by the time I've finished showering. All that standing water also means it's hard to keep the mold at bay. In the past I've used Draino, Liquid Plumber, and any powerful, guaranteed, high rated product I could find at the hardware store, but soon after the drain was running slow again. Due to the fumes, I've had to wear a vapor mask to use them, and then stay out of the house for a day or two afterwards. When I stumbled across this one and it said it was non-toxic and without fumes, I had to try it. Honestly, I was skeptical. When it comes to burning through a drain clog, most of these "natural" products just don't work. Well, bust my buttons, this one does!!! Not only that - it works just as well or better than all those harsh chemically ones that poison the air. The first time I used it, we'd had a terribly slow drain for several months. It was at it's worst. The directions said after pouring this in, to let it sit for 15 minutes, and if the drain was still slow, to repeat the treatment and leave it overnight, then pour boiling water down the drain. Well, that sounds like too much work to me, plus how would I get a large amount of boiling water safely to the bathroom? So, instead, I just poured half the bottle down the drain (one side) and let it sit overnight the first time. I was very busy the next day, so it actually sat undisturbed for almost 24 hours. Then I filled a bucket with very hot water from the kitchen sink (so no cold would go first), and poured it down the drain. WOW!!! Oh my gosh, WOW!!! I couldn't believe how well this worked! The water ran through a little on the slow side at first but after I poured more water down there, it kept speeding up. I finally turned the hot water on in the shower and left it running for about 7 minutes. When I came back to check on it, the water was draining out as fast and free as a brand new drain. Literally no pooling up at all. Now here comes the really amazing part. We got a surprise bonus present. Our chronically slow running bathroom sink now drains, too! I didn't even pour this down there, it just seemed to clear as a side effect of the shower clearing. That's NEVER happened before. Not with any other product. Sure, leaving it sit for so long was certainly a factor, but I've let some of the chemical ones sit overnight, too, but none of them ever did this. This is hands down the best drain de-clogger I've ever used - PLUS - it really truly is fume free. I expected to react badly to it even if it claimed not to have harsh chemicals because I'm so sensitive and react even to non-harsh chemicals. I expected at least a headache, but I had no reaction to this at all. I didn't wear a mask, I didn't leave the house. Even working right next to it, there were no detectable fumes and no smell at all. I love this stuff! I'm telling all my friends about it. Why would anyone ever use toxic stinky drain cleaners again? This one really works!!! Yay!!! :D UPDATE 8-19-19: Eight months later and our drain is still clear and running fast. No standing water, no pools. I've never had to repeat this treatment. The sink still drains well, too. In all my years, I've never seen a drain cleaner be this effective. Wow! (no affiliation - I paid full price - I'm just that impressed).

Like so many drain cleaners I find it hard to tell if it worked unless I start with a totally backed up sink or shower and wind up with a free flowing one. I rarely if ever have the total blocked situation si I am usually dealing with a slow draining sink or shower. In this case, drain number one was a utility sink adjacent to the washing machine that backs up with water when the washing machine is on spin cycle draining its water. After the sink fills up 3-4 inches and the washer is done spinning, the sink completely empties like there is no problem. So I am not sure exactly what the reason for the backup is or if I am even correctly treating it looking for a blockage in or near the trap, or whatever area the drain cleaner is effective on. My second problem a toilet that gets plugged up way too easily and usually from too much toilet paper which is flushed before it has had time to absorb the water. I have the same question here after treating it, apparently unsuccessfully, when the same the same one chamber application it didn't seem to help. However, I'm thinking something is stuck in the toilet itself somewhere as it backs up immediately after flushing and always needs plugging to open it up. It's never just started flowing free after 5 or 10 minutes as is often the case in a paper jam. The last problem is the one I expected to see results. It is a Roman shower (no door or curtain, not that it matters) and my wife with long, thick, dark Italian hair I believe is guilty of whatever happens in here. I used to have to get a clothes hanger down the drain to free it of giant hairballs. Her hair isn't that long anymore so no hairballs recently but it still regularly starts slowing down and then almost stopping. It will always drain when it's plugged but verrrrrry slowly. I used the same one chamber application and let it sit for two hours with the other's, but when I was done, it didn't seem to make a difference. So before I did the second overnight application, I thought I'd give it a quick plunge. Well, it wasn't quick, and there was no large gushing sound of water when it finally opened but it did get noticeably better and now drains like a champ. So I'm thinking about the very least, or best, the Gobbler got rid of a lot of the blockage and started the process of opening up the drain and the plunger finished the job. As I said before; In all three applications, I'm not sure what happened in each of the drains. I am pretty sure it did something in the shower, and I will continue to use it (hopefully in more standard situations where I can see the results) even if it's not quite as effective as Drano because of how it is much less harmful to the drains and environment. I'm all for that as long as whatever I use that works. Unfortunately, my environmental sensitivity ends with a backup that affects my property value, so if I was told I had to use battery acid to open up a badly plugged drain and it that it would poison a catfish somewhere downstream, I'm sure the catfish would understand that he gave his life for a good cause...Me!

I waited a few days to write this review after I used it, because I honestly couldn't believe the product worked as good as it did. But it did. I had a super slow draining bathroom sink from hair/gunk and the fact we don't get the coldest water. It was so slow that when I would use it and the water would rise up, it would take hours to slowly drain back, and it would leave a film of gross all down the side. We have a septic system so I first tried other solutions. I tried hot water, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, and vinegar. They would work a tad but not really and definitely not long term. This Green Gobbler has made my sink run clear for 4 days now so I am convinced it works on the long term. And it also took away a discolored ring around the metal drain too so its all nice and bright white. As for the procedures I used, I did pour a little bit of very hot water down the drain and let it go down before I poured half the bottle in. it took a couple hours for it to go down as it is a little thick and like I said the drain was clogged and slow anyway. The Green Gobbler doesn't really smell, so that was good. Then I waited about 24 hours and I poured about 1/2 Liter of hot water again (really hot from a kettle) and it was cleared right away with no backup at all. It was super easy to use. It is a great value for the money and I am sold!

I have a toilet, that every #2 is a crap shoot on whether or not it will go down. Kept telling the kids to use the other toilet, but of course, they'd remember only a couple of times and then they were back at clogging up the toilet. Checked these children's toilet paper usage for their #2s and that couldn't have been it, they weren't being wasteful. Then Christmas came and it took a literal 3 hours of plunging and snaking to the point the whole porcelain bowl was left all marked up I had to drain it and use Barkeepers Friend to clean up the marks after we finally got it to go down because it looked so atrocious I couldn't stand to look at it. So, I'm thinking, something has got to be down there. We did catch one child throwing the hair caught in the shower drain in there since that's the bathroom most used by the long-haired girls, so maybe that was it, or a hot wheels car or something. One of these days, I knew I was going to have to spend the hundred dollars for the rotorooter when whatever it was finally became stronger than our plunging ability, but if it was a wad of hair or a q-tip, surely some chemical would dissolve it, but of course all the draino things say no toilets....so I looked for a chemical plunger for the toilet and came across this and figured $12 was worth a try to avoid Roto Rooter. Decided not to use it right away and wait for the next inevitable kid pooping in the wrong toilet and backing it up. And last night was it. So, I plunged (because it should have been pretty good after all that snaking just two weeks ago, right?) and could only get the water to go down very, very slowly, but not flush. I flushed again, nothing and plunged a deal more until I got that water all the way down to just out of the trap because I figure I want this Green Gobbler to be as undiluted as possible. I pour in the Gobbler and then decide to microwave 4 cups of water to the point of boiling and stick it in with the Gobbler because of the instructions for all the other type drains to be followed by hot water, so I figure that could help... I left it sit for 4 hours and the instructions say to wait 2 hours or until water is at normal levels, but well, nothing had moved, but I wasn't sure that mattered since I'd plunged it so far down, that those 4 cups of water didn't reach up to normal level really. I poured in another 4 boiling cups of water which is above normal levels, saw no movement, crossed my fingers and flushed....nope!! :( It backed up all the way to the top. Argh! I'd been had, I thought. I sighed and picked up the plunger, figuring I'd be there for another hour or two like usual when lo', on the second plunge, it all siphoned away! YAY! I'm now back to buy another bottle to have on hand in case whatever it ate up didn't get all eaten up, but it surely did something! And I didn't have to plunge for 2 hours again! Hopefully that cleared it all up, but I'm arming myself against a monster hairball or whatever was down there by buying another one.

We have a toilet that occasionally has some draining problems and we are not sure why. Anyway we used this product as the instruction state and the toilet drained as expected after each use. We selected this product as it does not use harsh chemicals and is safe for septic use. This product is highly recommended if you have a drain or toilet that has some drainage issues.

This product worked amazingly for my needs! I purchased this item in 2020 for a slow draining bathroom sink and shower in an older home (circa 1960s). I only used ½ the recommended amount and let sit over night before flushing with very hot water. My drains functioned great for more than 1 year before I needed to reapply! Sadly, I am out of my supply and did not think to repurchase a few bottles immediately after. Now the price has been raised from €18 to €115, which is clearly unreasonable. If you can find at a reasonable price, I strongly recommend this product. In the meantime I have contacted the manufacturer directly to see if they can ship to Germany for a reasonable price, as I would prefer not to use items in the drain that are not eco friendly.

I just went through it on amazon. It was attractive. It was very effective and clean. No harmful odor or fumes. It worked pefectly.

Mi problema era obstrucción por objeto, así que cambio mi opinión, me supongo que es bueno pero no pude comprobarlo por lo mismo mencionado, se uso en el WC pero no funcionó por la obstrucción del objeto.

Ottimo prodotto. Cercavo qualcoso che facesse defluire l'acqua della doccia che era diventato un poco lento. Versata l'intera parte di una delle due camere, lasciato agire qualche ora e poi versato acqua calda... Perfetto, scarico tornato a defluire rapidamente, come nuovo. Se dovessi averne bisogno ancora, lo riprenderei di sicuro.
