Best-1 BEST72 72 oz Hummingbird Feeder

Sturdy and durable I just wish it had a little style, it’s very commercial looking. But it is the biggest one and I need that!

I've been looking for the biggest Hummingbird feeder on the market and this one is it! It is huge! The container holds more than four times the standard size feeder so you do not have to refill daily as I had been before receiving this one. I was a bit skeptical about ordering after reading the other reviews but took a chance and ordered it anyway. Yes the bottle-hanger is plastic but is solidly molded and reinforced into the bottle. Yes, the feeder will not sit flat when filling because of the plastic tab on the bottle. Problem solved....I place the tab and hanger down into my garbage disposal and the bottle sat flat in my sink for easy filling. The birds do NOT have a problem feeding with this feeder. It has eight holes and I've seen six birds feed at the same time. The bottle does not collapse as others have said. The gravity feed is perfect and the bottle empties as the birds feed. Since the bottle is plastic, I do not recommend placing it in direct hot sunlight. Even though it's tough, I can imagine it softening if it gets too warm. Warning: ONCE YOU FILL THE BOTTLE, DO NOT PICK IT UP BY THE BASE. The base will come apart where it screws into the unit. This was my first mistake with this feeder. I was able to superglue the part back together and it's reinforced now. This feeder is about as perfect as you can get. I have purchased the "Grand Master" feeder from another company and it ended up being a piece of garbage. BEST-1 YOU HAVE 5-STARS FOR THIS FEEDER!!! By the way, I've been feeding Hummingbirds as a hobby for almost ten years. I've purchased many feeders. If I were to improve this feeder, I'd only ask for a bigger base with sixteen holes for feeding!

My experience with the Best-1 72 oz feeder has been vastly different from Troy's, and having owned a number of these for several years I can speak with some experience. I live at 9000' above sea level in some of the most intense sunlight in the world and haven't had any problems with bottle deterioration or cracking. The manufacturer has increased the thickness of the plastic bottle over the years, so perhaps that's the company's response to problems some others may have experienced.The birds LOVE this feeder. We regularly have all 8 stations filled and 4 or 5 hummers hovering around trying to get in for a sip, hence the need for a large capacity feeder. The base is easy to clean, though the small neck bottle requires a skinny brush to scrub the inside. That small neck, however, makes it easy to carry outside (upside down) without spilling. My hummingbirds and I highly recommend this feeder!If you're still concerned about the plastic bottle, the Best-1 32 oz. feeder is the same unit with a smaller glass bottle.

I have bought the 72oz. feeders from Best Nest several times in the past. They hold up well and seem to be popular with our guests. We call them the "pig birds" and it seems they never stop eating. I had trouble finding big enough feeders to supply the demand without constant filling. We use 2 of these 72oz. feeders at a time and have been happy with the size and the quality. The only downside in my opinion is the small hole for filling. You'll need to use a funnel to get the sugar in. That is far from a deal breaker though. I recommend using some water type ant moats to keep the ants out. :-)

We have a lot of hummingbirds that come to our yard for feeding. I keep 3 of the Best-1 72 oz. feeders out as well as 5 other large feeders to ensure that they do not all run out at the same time. Each feeder will usually need filling every other day. These feeders are excellent quality and durability and the hummingbirds really like them. I use bottle brushes intended to clean wine bottles for cleaning the bottle part and the base is easily scrubbed since it separates when removed. I am very pleased with these feeders. I do use an ant cup with every feeder.

For some reason our hummingbirds are not attracted to this feeder. Was it the plastic bottle or perhaps its size? I have other feeders that are glass at 32 ounces that have managed to entice the finicky eaters. The design was the same sit and feed style. I was hoping to make the batches last longer but am sadly disappointed and will stick with our older bottles.

Best hummingbird feeder we've found on the market. Easy to take apart the base to clean and the heavy plastic bottle lasts many seasons in the sun. We feed from May to October and the only feeder we've had to replace in the past 4 years has been one knocked down in a wind storm. Clean out the bottle with vinegar between uses, and if it gets left out too long and gets sticky, use denture cleaning tablets to soak it. The birds come quickly to the red base, using only clear sugar water. Great size, too.

So this my third purchase of this feeder. I love them and so do my birds. I go through 2 gallons of sugar water a day so I need a feeder that has a capacity for a lot of water. I wish it had a wider mouth but I understand why it is a small mouth because I have purchased other feeders with wide mouths and with that size you can’t properly hold the water without it either leaking or just plain spills every were. YOU CAN NOT got wrong with this feeder!
