It looks pretty thick.  Are you supposed to make it thinner by yourself?

It was useless because they don’t come with the space where the wires set. I took it to several music shops and they won’t do the cut. Wasn’t easy for me to do it, needs adjustment and professional cut. I had to buy a new violin

So the bridge to my violin broke and I need a replacement I’m not sure what fitted and semi fitted mean I’m a beginner the violin is for student?.

Most bridges will need to befitted by a professional violin maker. With the semi fitted bridge, you might be able to bypass that process and install it your self.

Hi folks. how much fitting did the feet need and did you do it yourself. Nearest shop to me is a 4 hour round trip

I became a "Luthier" overnight... After watching dozen of you tube videos on how to fit a bridge. Since I have always love learning by experience I got this bridge and went for it. I  am a total violin beginner, by chance actually. Someone gave me a vintage violin, no strings, bridge, sound post. So I had nothing to lose and much to gain by experimenting on my own. Fixing this violin has giving me a great knowledge of the instrument. Since this violin didn't have any strings, all I had to do was to fit this bridge, shave some bit and pieces out, so it perfectly contour the body of the violin, then I put the strings on. I was afraid to put the sound bridge myself though, so I brought it to a violin shop. Voila I have a violin to play with!  now the problem is that as I learned more, I noticed this bridge is too high for this violin. And that in my ignorance I didn't realized that the curve of the fingerboard of this violin in particular does not "match" this bridge. These kind of adjustment could only be accomplish by a professional. Not by me the kitchen Luthier :) Anyway if you (or anybody reading this )would like to do it by your own, I would recommend Josef Teller Adjustable Violin Bridge instead, the feet of that bridge rotate a bit giving you a great fit without having to carve this one. Loosen the strings, get a clam for the body so the sound post will not fall accidentally, if it does.. take it to a shop. It can be done. It can never replace the artistry of a Luthier, but at least will get you through in the meantime
